KVH expires at end of season so he cant be traded and when did New Jersey get a top 5 pick?
The best trade involving Dirk to rebuild is Miami without a doubt. Marion would be valuable to re-trade and getting that top pick would be great. Also it would be a way to get rid of Jason Terry with Dirk, as Terry would be awesome next to Dwayne Wade in the backcourt.
I think Miami would do the trade too!

KVH signed a 3 year deal with only 1 year guaranteed. He could be traded and then we can immediately cut him at no cost. As for the pick...

Agreed, that would be a good deal. Heat fans would probably hate the idea of trading Beasley or Rose for Dirk, but I think it makes a lot of sense for them. Wade won't be around forever.

Have the Raptor fans bombarded you guys with the Ford + Rasho + 17th pick for Howard and Dampier ideas yet?
It does have some merit for both sides.
Replace the crappy Damp and his horrid contract with Rasho's expiring, get a talented young point guard from Texas back + a solid prospect like Bill Walker or Brandon Rush.

I'd consider that for a rebuild. At least it gets us a decent pick and an expiring contract for Damp...though I don't like the fact that Ford's contract has 3 years left. At least he's only 25, though.

Ok, here're the games of Josh Howard vs NOH during this regular season:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 10NOH.html
http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 40DAL.html
http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 00NOH.html
http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 60DAL.html
His best game was the first, but he didnt shoot that well in all of them. He never reached 40 % FG%. He was definitely off in this post season, the same is also true for the regular season games. He doesnt get comfortable in New Orleans defense schemes.
Maybe the Kidd trade was an overreaction, but trading Josh when his value is low is also one. Let him play some games next season and let him improve his trade value. Even when rebuilding, Josh for Ford and expiring and a late pick is not even remotely close.
Look at his games vs GS just a few weeks ago:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 00GSW.html
Josh 36 points
http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 20DAL.html
Josh 28 points
Its always a fine line between being a winner and loser. Next season there will be stars falling off their game, good players demanding trades, players not fitting the coach. Let time work in our favour.

To get Howard (who fills a lot of their needs) I think they'd throw in the expirings of Anthony Parker and Garbajosa too for another of your bad contracts.

, so I think Howard would actually be a fan favourite in Toronto
A trade between the teams does make a lot of sense though if you guys want to shake things up.
Ford's from Port Arthur I think, no idea how far that is from Dallas, but I'm sure he'd be a favourite being a former Texas star and all.
Of course the Raps could just keep 17 and draft a Batum, Walker, Rush and pray he turns into Howard, so we'll see.
Could be an interesting off-season around the league.
Colangelo has guaranteed he'll be wheeling and dealing this season.

Just throwing it out here:
Dallas:
Incoming:
Mike Miller Ron Artest
Leaving:
Josh Howard Jerry Stackhouse Eddie Jones
Memphis:
Incoming:
Josh Howard Kenny Thomas
Leaving:
Mike Miller Jason Collins Kyle Lowry
Sacramento:
Incoming:
Jerry Stackhouse Eddie Jones Jason Collins Kyle Lowry
Leaving:
Ron Artest Kenny Thomas
OK
Dallas does it to get a shooter at the 2 or 3, Ron Artest does a lot of little things.
Memphis to pair Gay with Howard, Memphis fans were already proposing Miller and Lowry for Howard. To make it more fair they take on Kenny for one more year.
Sacramento to get an expiring for Kenny Thomas, get a Prospect at PG while giving up on Artest.
Thoughts?

Still can't get how we traded devin and useful players for grandpa.
Avery gone is nt enough, donnie should be next. He's absolutely useless.
We have 2 options:
1- Rebuild: keep grandpa in the team and let his huge contract expire, trade josh and maybe Dirk for picks...
2- Try to be smart in trhe offseason and improve significantly. Trade grandpa's expiring for value, consider trading josh for something worth it...

Damp & Howard to CHA
JRich, Artest & SAR to DAL
Stack & Nazr & CHA 1st round pick (likely #8 overall) to SAC
then
resign Lue, Allen, Wright, Barea, George

use MLE to get backup C help; ideas = Biedrens, Mihm,Diop, Andersen, KT
PG = Kidd - Lue/Barea
SG = JRich - JET/Wright
SF = Artest - George
PF = Dirk - SAR/Allen
C = Bass - MLE/Nazr

Kidd for Nash and Diaw.
What about Diaw/Barbosa/Tucker/15th pick for Dirk?
I'm guessing that's still undervaluing him....
Edit: I know that the ONLY way you guys consider trading Dirk is if you decide to "rebuild", and the chances of that are slim to none, but you guys would want young players back+picks, and that's sadly the best offer PHX can put together(unless you're insistent on w/e 2nd round picks PHX has left).
Leandro's 25, and Diaw just turned 26. Diaw's contract is an obvious problem, but he showed in Games 4/5 of the Spurs/Suns series that if the offense goes through him, he produces.
Just a pipe dream I'm fantasizing about.
