This week is now or never for the Rays

Post#1 » by craig01 » Sat Aug 6, 2011 7:29 pm

It's now or never for the Rays as August begins.

Rays are 10 GB the Yankees and 9 GB the Red Sox.

Rays will need to cut the lead down to about 5 GB by September, and then hope they gain advantages in the head-to-heads against the Sox and Yanks in the final month.

If the Sox and Yanks both go around 17-11 in August, that means the Rays would have to finish with a 22-6 run for the month.

Not impossible, but the bats will have to stay alive consistently for any chance at all.

Rays took first game against the jays, but still sit 8.5 back of the yankees

It's getting late to make a run......just hope the rotation stays strong because the bats flat out stink

2 back, 10 to play

7 against the Yankees, 3 vs Toronto.

Outlook is bleak.....but a nice run this month.

If the Rays finish with 90 wins the season will be a huge success given all that was lost from last year

Twice blowing 2-1 leads late against the Yanks left about just one nail left to put in the coffin

Rays still alive.

One back with 3 to play thanks to the almost historical collapse of the Red Sox.

Rays have picked up 8 games while going 14-10 in September.

Geez

All tied up with 2 to go.

What a potentially amazing and historical collapse if this finishes the way we all want it too.

What an amazing finish....from the triple play the night before to save the second game, to one of the most memorable baseball nights I've ever witnessed
