I personally like this new playoff format. it should make it easier for teams stuck in divisions like the A.L. East.

People are griping that this is the rule intended for the Red Sox and Yankees
Personally, even as a baseball purist, I like it.
One game playoffs have so much complexity and drama.
The bottom line is, if you want to avoid the one game playoff, then win the division.
