Cobb was no less than brilliant today.

Darvish made quality pitches when he needed to.

Rays hit some balls hard, but right at somebody.

This team is going to be a work in progress offensively all year.

Offense is going to be a problem again and I am not surprised. They are not consistent and we still lacked power.

Worried about Moore having that injury, hope its not serious.

The pitching was outstanding today! They are the ONLY reason we came out with a win.

Our offense is still meh. We may need to trade a pitcher for a great, not good, but great batter.

I would love to get the offense rolling. But with the injuries, we can't afford to trade a pitcher right now. We have 2 starters currently injured. We might be able to afford trading one after they are both healthy and playing again. I imagine Hellickson will be the first on the block, considering he is the only guy we don't have locked up to a team-friendly deal through arbitration.

Moore is going to see Dr James Andrews. Not a good sign at all.

Announcement supposed to be late this afternoon

I am expecting TJ surgery which means no Moore until next May/June.

The good news is that he will have basically a brand new arm/elbow.

Did he have a sore arm for a while or did it just happen the other day during the game?

He injured the elbow during the game throwing a change up. The same pitch that put him on the DL last year with a similar, but less severe, injury.

Right now they are seeing if he can go without surgery and finish the year without the pitch. I want him to pitch, but I don't think he'll be very effective like that.

Cobb hits the DL with Oblique strain... Ugh! At least it's not an elbow/shoulder/arm injury of any kind. Our starting pitching is really taking a beating. And that's the main reason we've been winning. Now would be a great time for our bats to come alive. Myers needs to wake up.

Ugh, looks like Cobb May miss a month too. Hope I heard that wrong.

Moore is likely done for the year, Cobb out of action probably until mid May, Hellickson not expected to return until May, Colome suspended for 50 games.....for the first time in 6 years the Rays don't have immediate depth to support injuries.

Karns has been terrible at Durham, and Montgomery has been ok but he isn't ready. I don't know much about Kelly.

Enny Romero has command issues, but has great stuff.

Just got to hope the offense and bullpen become very solid and consistent through this rough stretch.

There might not be a huge difference in Romero and Moore. Both lefties, great stuff with command issues. He'll probably throw 4 or 5 innings with around 2 hits and 3 walks, maybe 1 or 2 runs. That wouldn't be the end of the world.

Tonights game was obviously postponed, but what an inconsistent start of the season from just about everybody but the bullpen, Longoria, and Joyce.

Moore out is a huge blow in my opinion. He has tremendous stuff and we wont be able to replace that. The offense continues to suck and sadly I dont see that changing fast.

Replacing Moore's production is not possible with anyone currently in the system.

We must hope that Hellickson can regain his form once he returns, and that Cobb isn't out too long.

A collapse of the rotation this year may pave the way for the trade of Price if the Rays can't compete.

Price got hit hard last night, the offense is still invisible.

I am ready for this down cycle to be over with.

Honestly, I don't feel good about the Rays turning around the offense. They hardly added anything from last year. Yes some guys were added but they were minor upgrades in my opinion. There is no way we had enough offense to beat Boston last year, and we still don't this year. The starting pitching is a question mark. I don't feel good about it.

It sucks that I had to miss these last two games. The Rays offense has finally come to life, and we demolished the Yanks these last two games. Hopefully they can keep this scoring up!

Agreed that there is not much improvement offensively, with maybe the exception of having Myers for the entire season.

What is huge though is that the team stayed defensively intact, and actually got better with the addition of Hannigan.

The rotation is going to be a huge question mark, but the bullpen looks to be much more solid than last year....and that bullpen last year cost the Rays at least 10-15 games of blown leads.
