How many games do the Rangers win? +

Post#1 » by cmavswin » Sat Apr 3, 2010 7:04 pm

So is this team ready to contend or pretend?
Washington about to be fired for another slow start?
Josh and Vlad contribute or end up on the DL for half the season?
Does the Wilson starting experiment work or has fail written all over it?
How many starts does Lewis get? Harrison? and where does Tommy Hunter fit into this rotation?

Vegas over/under is 83.5 and I say over that if the team stays healthy.

We start slow. Who knows if wash gets fired. Probably. We won't contend, but we aren't pretenders either.
Josh and Vlad do contribute. Greatly, i might add.
Wilson starting fails. That isn't a question. CJ Wilson will not be in the majors no more than 5 years from now. The rangers give up on him some time next year, he bounces around for 2 maybe 3 years and then teams will realize he isn't worth anything. I hate CJ Wilson.
Lewis I think lasts maybe 10 starts before he proves why he belongs in Japan.
Harrison gets at least 20 starts. Wins 10 games.
Tommy Hunter regresses (a .277 BABIP won't happen again), but is still a solid member of the roation by the end of the year. I am using the Texas Ranger standard for pitching when I say "solid"

We win 85 games again. Our pitching overall cannot possibly be as reliable as it was last year. It simply cannot happen. A guy whose nickname is Scooter is our ace, jesus. Our offense progresses from last year, because it is full of too much talent to be the load of fail that it was last year. These two forces even out and we have the same level of team overall as we did last year. I've been a fan of the Rangers for too long now to expect anything different. GIve it one more yhear.

hopefully this board gets a little more active

Obvious hyperbole, but I don't want him on my team. He has good closer stuff, but he will never be a good closer because he is a friggin idiot. Last year was a gift from god, but he will never escape from his mental lapses because he is too cocky.

Obviously I hope I eat my words, but it is just not going to happen. He also needs to get a haircut and a normal glove until he proves himself as reliable in any role.

He's got talent, but there is so much to hate about him I don't understand why you can't believe it.

Eating crow after outing one, but I'm pretty happy about that.

amazing outing by cj, unfortunately our offense and frankie sucked today

cj has some of the best stuff on the staff (outside of harden and neftali, maybe holland) so if he continues this it wont be suprising

as long as he keeps the walks down, he's gold
