Teixeira - Giants Fan

Post#1 » by opzoneworld » Sat Jun 9, 2007 12:42 am

Hey Texas fans.

There are a lot of rumors going around that you guys may be shopping Teixeira. I will not claim to be an expert as far as the Rangers but from the little research I have done, it seems you guys could be interested in getting some pitching. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Wondering if the Giants would have anything you guys would want for Teixeira? Would Jonathan Sanchez, our young lefty interest you guys? I understand it would take more than him but its a start.

Thoughts?

:o I should have known. :D

I cannot see the Giants willing to part with Lincecum or Cain, probably Lowry as well.

How about a package like this:
Jonathan Sanchez (P) - MLB ready now either to start or in pen.
Dave McKae (P) - 25 years old, 6-1, 1.74 ERA, 72.1IP, 16BB, 66SO. Could be MLB ready now.
John Bowker (OF) - 23 years old, .274AVE, 7HR, 28RBI, .475SLG. Probably a year away.

That is one crappy package. McKae is 25 and just arrived at AA. Bowker is ok but nothing major. Sanchez is someone the Rangers are targeting, I think the Giants should package him with someone else.

The rangers will trade him for a below average starting pitcher, and two "top-level" prospects that will only play a combined 120 games with the Rangers (though one of them will later be an all-star for another team).

Lets pray that Atlanta deals us Salty, Elvis Andrus, and Jo Jo Reyes for Tex. If Daniels pulled that off, he is a mircale worker.

yea thats what im hopin for, i think looking at andrus he has great great potential. only 19 and has 42 walks. sure he K's alot but he can cut down on that and he can steal bases. his BA is .239 but b/c of his walks his OBP is decent.

Screw that. I'm looking to trade Tex to the Dodgers for that firstbaseman and Clayton Kershaw

If Daniels pulled off James Loney and Clayton Kershaw for Tex, then all previous trades need to be forgotten (including giving away CY for beans). That would be AMAZING. Kershaw is projected to be a #1/#2 kinda guy, and he is from Highland Park to boot. James Loney is already hitting extremely well in the majors and is only 23 years old. That'd be amazing.

dont count on it, JS won't deal that much for a rental....

look for salty, lillibridge, and harrison for tex....

its not as good a package, but lillibridge has more experience than andrus can play the OF, which you guys need....matt harrison will be just as good as jo jo in the majors if not better, if harrison was pitching for us right now instead of jo jo, then it'd probly be the other way around....
