It's the second inning.

There is lots of time to make up 4 runs.

They're facing McClanahan and the Rays. They're not winning this game.

They might not (although McClanahan seems to be having trouble finding the plate). But the game is far from over.

Throwing 100 on the corners while dropping 93 mph sliders in for strikes at will. He looks OK to me.

30 in 47 now. And most importantly, no runs allowed. He's dominating them, which is to be expected.

McClanahan is a bit similar to Manoah, in that he'll throw a fair few balls simply because his fastball moves in unpredictable ways, but he's around the plate enough that he doesn't walk many people. He's unlike Manoah in that he sits upper 90s and his CH/CB combination is probably the best in baseball by some margin.

He's also a large part of the reason I don't want to face the Rays in a short series.

And we're forced to use Phelps with a bullpen game looming tomorrow to get a single out in a 8 run deficit. Don't we have any position players who can throw a baseball?

Blowout loss. One of the worst of the season. Feel bad for the fans who went to see this game. Team couldn't even score a run against this Tampa team.

We took 3 of 5 vs the Rays. I think most of us would have been content with two, beforehand, given our history vs them.

Good series, bad end. Hopefully we're not at the tail end of our September hot streak.

I think we needed the 3,and am glad we got them, especially with losing 11-0.I wanted 4/5 beforehand. To lose a series to them again at home now, could of had a bad effect psychologically.
We still have to go their hell hole of a stadium for a 4 gamer. If we split that,it,ll be ok.
We should be looking at sweeping Bal,but 2/3 would be ok.
At some point very soon,we will change our history with TB...why not now. With no Kiermaier we should expect more because he is the guy who has killed us the most.

I'm happy with 3/5 against the Rays.

It just sucks that we have 4 more games against them, and at the Trop, too.

Our best chance to strike and to get McClanhan was in the first inning, 2nd and 3rd 1 out, and couldn't do anything.

and Chapman strikes out. Not the person you want to have at the plate with RISP. Elite with his glove but a strike out ready to happen when he bats. I also didn't agree having him bat as the cleanup hitter in the lineup with Teo right after him. We score a run or two in that inning and that might take some pressure off Gausman pitching to start the game.

As long as we stomp the Orioles, losses to Rays are ok.

3rd WC LFG!

Return to Toronto Blue Jays
