This feels like it's gonna be easily the worst loss of the year. They so badly outplayed this team.

I swear the Blue Jays own shift costs them so many runs every game. Glad it's banned next year

Jordan is cool as ice man so many huge spots he's gotten out of and won the game for us. Our pen is looking kinda scary? Bass, Yimi, Jordan is pretty damn good.

We got pretty unlucky scoring wise. Chapman and Bo both got robbed of multiple rbi doubles.

Can Romano pitch one of the games tomorrow still after the last two? I'm sure they'll probably try.

The times that you give up hits owing to the shift tend to be much more glaring than the times you prevent them. Cal Mitchell came into this game having two hits on ground balls to the 3B side of second base all season. You can't really set your defense on the theory that this might be number three.

Yeah one of those things where you don't really notice all the times it works but the few times it doesn't is glaring especially in big spots.

I’d prefer JBJ in CF if it’s not Springer.

So, we definitely want to put some distance between ourselves and the Orioles, but...having the third Wild Card is objectively the best position right now. Whichever of Cleveland and Minny wins the Central will be the weakest of the six playoff teams by a comfortable margin.

The last pitch of the Yankees/Rays game was basically the perfect pitch, and as close as you can get. Was also the hardest pitch of the game.

It's fun to compare the agita on this board about our chances with the consistency of the Fangraphs odds of our chances.

We've been below an 80% chance to make the playoffs for exactly one day all year (we had a 79.2% chance on July 11).
