If he gets Rodriguez out instead of hitting him the entire game takes a different trajectory. That's not Monday quarterback speak, I genuinely believe that.

I do too. I said it would fk them when it happend.

Manoah wasn't sharp, but he kept us in the game. The offense simply needs to be better.

To be fair, Castillo probably pitched one of the best games of his career. 72% of his pitches were strikes and he was pounding the fastball on the corners at 98-100 with movement all game long while dropping an occasional breaking ball at the feet that got a lot of hitters out in front. Any team in the majors would have struggled against a pitcher with Castillo's stuff clicking at 100% as it was tonight.

Was at the game and the loud crowd understandably just died after the Suarez/Raleigh hits and never came close to recovering. Felt like that really hurt us and helped Seattle (in addition to Castillo just being on the entire time).

I also don’t particularly like the matchup tomorrow of this team against Gausman given his reverse splits and Seattle’s plethora of good RHBs. We are in trouble.

We sure are Randle. I hope you didn't pay a pretty penny to watch this offense go blank. I know if I did, I wouldn't be too pleased.

Nah, I was literally in the last row in the 500s (which isn’t the best perspective to watch a game but did give me a good perspective about how the air went out of the building in the 1st and never came back). Not getting any good seats until/unless they advance deep in playoffs, which is obviously very unlikely,

really frustrating one to attend in person. It's always good to catch a live playoff game in this city. Lots of enthusiasm from the 100s to the 500s and people were really supportive till the final out. Some people were leaving early but not many.

Unfortunately that just felt like one of those bad ones we had during the earlier part of the year under charlie when we couldn't hit with RISP at all. But that's baseball and Castillo was great. Credit to Manoah, he shook off the nerves and didn't do too badly for his first playoff start. Just no run support at all.

also, i don't know how it came off on tv but making the rally towels dark blue was a bad decision. they just blended into the crowd from what I saw in person.

Anyway, wipe it away and focus on tomorrow. Still believe in these guys.

Mariners went out and got Castillo at the trade deadline. The Jays went out and got Mitch White. Unlikely we win the next two games. I think this season is over guys. Needed that first game.

Also, why is it that the Jays have a hard time with good pitching? Their stats are bloated by beating up on average pitchers.

If Gausman gets lit up early because of his finger,we will go to Stripling right away?

Agreed about the crowd deflating after the home run in the 1st inning. One of the big advantages the Jays have at home is the crowd, and it was taken away within minutes. Changed the entire complexion of the game. Of course, Castillo being dominating was the other issue.

I said before the series that the Mariners are a scary matchup because of their pitching. It's built for a post season run. What is going to hold them back is their offense. The Jays can still win this series, but it's going to come down to the offense. Obviously they need to score more than 0 to win, but the bigger issue is that they can't really afford to be trailing in the middle to late innings. That's a scenario where the Mariners simply have better resources to win. Jays need to get on Ray early tomorrow. Gausman throwing a scoreless first inning would help.

He,ll call us.It depends on what order he has us listed in his speed.Could be 1 or2 or 8th or 9th.
Seriously if Strip does not pitch if that scenario happens, the fans should boo him.

Stripling is not pitching in any scenario tomorrow outside of injury. They need him to pitch in game 3 if necessary. They’ll just go to high leverage arms immediately if Gausman struggles.
