He's nearing his 33rd birthday and has never thrown more than 122 IP in a season in his career, and I haven't the foggiest idea how teams would value that. A team might do 2 years, $35m or something? Maybe 3 years/$45? No idea. I'd probably strongly consider QOing him (and he might well accept), and nope out if anyone offered him serious AAV over a longish term.

Looking at Stripling's numbers the past 3 years it's clear that he is having an outlier season in terms of BABIP and HR/FB, without any fundamental change to his stuff (fb speed same this season etc). That indicates strong likelihood of regression next season. So the most I would give him is the QO, and I can easily see Atkins give him the Steven Matz treatment (due to us financially saddled by Kooch and Ryu combined 30M deadweight) which worked out great (Matz has an ERA of 5.7 and been injured a lot this season).

I suspect we'll offer him the QO, and then try to negotiate up to about 30/3 or so. If he gets more elsewhere, we'll take the draft pick.
