****, I had to switch to the KC stream before the HR (Jays stream died) so I still haven't heard the ad.

My stream paused a few times, so I got the phone notification just before the inning started for me.

Yep, it’s brutal, I can’t think of any other example in sports of an ad read forced into the live call of a play like that. No idea how that got approved. Buck rightfully sounds pained having to say it.

I hate the thought of that non sensical slogan being part of the call of a big home run late in the season or playoffs

Always wonder whether ads that intrusive are in any way beneficial. "Hey, we're the #brand you associate with feeling physical revulsion when an otherwise good thing happens!" doesn't feel like the best use of advertising dollars to me.

Feels like it should be a "Bud homerun of the night" or something which I wouldn't mind. But imagine us hitting a high intensity walk off in September and hearing "Home runs are for buds" just threw up at the thought.

These have been some fun games to watch.

Jays are hitting really well - they just need to get those hits in the same inning.

He was awful second half of the season. Also, for people putting way too much stock in really small sample sizes this year, he has the worst OPS+ on the team (at a nearly-impossible -31) in 2023.

I got to eat a mountain of crow thought the trade for Varsho was a reach but his defense is just stupid good and he's going to figure to hit 25+ HR. Manoah just pitched a absolute gem tonight and it's the ace of this team.

Had a discussion on a different board with a Baltimore Orioles fan on who has the better season which he said Gunnar is probably going to contend for a AL MVP. Which he said he wouldn't trade Gunnar and Mountcastle for Bo Bichette, Vladdy and Manoh. I mean Gunnar is getting stupid overrated by people now.

just waiting for the homestand. can't wait to see the power show at home.

Other than the new dimensions enabling Berrios to set the single season record for highest ERA, should be fun.

I don't know about Gunnar, but Adley might (if Shohei didn't exist). That guy is already one of the best players in baseball.

Same here. My attachment to the ceiling of Gabriel Moreno clouded my view - Varsho is a real impact ball player

Can remember Orioles fans freaking out that he was a bust because he had a .176/.256/.257 line close to a month into 2022. Then he basically flipped a switch and immediately became elite.
