Jays won't be signing him, that's for sure.

Manoah looks like he could be Ricky Romero 2.0. I would be tempted to offer Ryu a 1 year deal plus option. Not sure what other teams around the league would offer him though.

Depends on the rest of his starts, but with the way he’s pitching I think he can get a multi-year deal from someone.

Even a 1-year deal is likely to be $10M+ annually, highly doubt that amount can be spared for a fifth starter given the offensive issue.
The starting CF, 3B, DH and likely even the 2B are all free agents

Not since George Costanza was the assistant to the travelling secretary.

They were terrible in the early 1990's. Last time they were below .500 was 1992.

Bringing Chapman back on a team-friendly deal and moving Orelvis to 2nd base makes a lot of sense. Bo has proven hes good enough to stay at SS for the longterm.

Its going to be a fun offseason trying to replace Merrifield and Belt's output this season, though.

You're not too familiar with Scott Boras, are you?

Feels like ‘let’s get some innings out of him before sending him down’ type of game from Bowden Francis

Nope.

some team will waste money on him.

Funny how everything changed for him. MVP talks to begin the season. Feels like a few seasons ago. Now hitting 7th in the lineup.
raf1995 wrote:I just don’t think he has that kind of potential. I think we will regret not trading him for a haul in a few years when he’s a mid-tier starter with nice playmaking and defense and a shaky jumper.

lol, Chapman’s camp is likely to push for $150M+ in this bare market

It will cost at a minimum 5 years and over 100 million to bring back Chapman. Boras does not know what the words team-friendly are. The free agent market lacks quality 3rd basemen, and Chapman will cash in big time. I will gladly offer him a Qualifying Offer, take the draft pick, and let him walk.

The ****’s Merrifield’s head on this defensive inning?
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

And he'll get it. There are very few 3B as good as him.

Heartbreaker of a series. One bad pitch (and a bunch of struggling ABs) away from a clean sweep.

I feel like I've said this at least a dozen times this year, but lets hope that this was the game that finally woke our bats up. We're going to need it down the stretch.

Half a game behind the Mariners, a game behind the Astros - am I actually going to have to cheer for Boston tomorrow? Yikes.

The Yankees still have one of the better bullpens in the majors.
