Varsho for Moreno/Gurriel was more defensible given team need and team surplus. Whether it ends up working out is another story, but there was logic behind the trade. The Frasso/White deal was more indefensible since good/smart teams develop guys like White, they don't trade real prospects for him.

Yeah, I’m not overly worried about the Varsho deal because he will provide good value long term in a high value position where we were weakest.

Hard to justify trading a legit prospect (even if he was coming off injury) for a 6th starter type though.

This is a small ball team. They can't score with RISP and have no power. Vladdy is a good player but will never be a superstar like Judge. The bullpen has been underwhelming so far. It's not a great pen even when everyone is healthy. Another year without putting together a good bullpen. We keep doing this year after year after year. Management has failed us again.

How quickly the season turned. Over a week ago we swept the Braves at home and were looking to push past the Orioles, we proceed to s*** the bed for a week and we're down to fifth while playing all AL east teams. Thank goodness for the balanced schedule otherwise we'd be locked in for last this season in the division the way things are going.

I cannot recall what year the Jays could have moved to the AL Central, but I remember reading an article over a decade ago where the Jays could have moved to the AL Central. However, ownership wanted to stay in the AL East due to the extra revenue and ratings it generated in home games with the Yankees and Red Sox in town. Big time blunder that cost this team a few potential AL Central Division titles over the years.

I like being in this division. It makes winning that much sweeter. Boston, NY, and TB are our rivals in other sports too, so it makes sense to be in the same division with them here too.

Tampa Bay shows us that it's possible to consistently dominate this division even with a little league payroll. The problem is we continue to hire clowns to run this team (and the one time we had a decent GM, we let him go, to hire another clown).

The Nick Frasso for Mitch White trade is another one that will likely bite us for the years to come. Based on how dominant Frasso has been in the Minors this year, and some NL scouts are saying he reminds them of a younger and taller Jake Arrieta at 6 foot 5; while White has been terrible since he got here. A NL scout said Toronto will regret this deal. Time will tell.

This FO is beyond terrible at evaluating pitching talent. They probably didn't even see the potential in Frasso when they traded him. It's telling that in 8 years we've only developed a single MLB-level starter.
