Plus looking like it might be another year of the Raps striving for the play-in. It's a tough time to be a Toronto sports fan

Didn't worry, we have the Leafs.

The devil is now out to collect after giving us the Raps championship

I really don't understand how Martinez still has a job. I ask again, who has gotten better under his tutelage? Maybe Bichette, but Bichette is well known to march to his own drum when it comes to hitting. On the other hand, I can name a whole bunch that have gotten worse. And it's not like Martinez had an incredible track record of major league coaching before this gig. They should have got rid of him when they ditched Montoyo.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

They started using him in short relief again over the past week, so definitely not.

What they really need is an actual starter.

It really surprised me that they pulled him after only 40 pitches. I think Schneider had a plan, and wanted to stick to it.

Remarkably efficient outing for the pitchers - 113 pitches combined to get through 9. Love to see it.

Great game all around. Gausman looked a bit cheesed that they remember how to hit with RISP only when he's not on the mound. 8-)

Just back from Rogers Centre. Great to watch the Jays send nine guys to the plate in the first inning and take an early 5-0 lead.

Made for a stress-free game with a positive vibe at the ballpark.

I see you are unfamiliar with the 2023 Toronto Blue Jays.

What do you think is most likely in terms of Manoah? Him returning to form next year (i doubt he pitches again this year in the majors), or him being out of the league next year?

Im not very well versed in contracts and rules in situations like these. But what do the Jays even do in this situation? They are paying Manoah lots of money no? Does he still get paid even if he doesnt pitch another day this entire season? Like, what options do they have when they are paying 5 starters but only 4 are on the mound?

I think Manoah wants it bad enough to turn his life around and get in shape. There is zero chance he doesn’t get a few more chances, especially considering how cheap he is atm.

They’re paying Manoah at or near the minimum. I believe he’s also not arbitration eligible until 2025 so he’s not going to be making significant money next year either (if he happens to make the major league team).

And who knows what happens with him? Impossible to predict given that he’s both physically and mentally broken. He needs to get in better shape and be able to pitch at pace and that’s gonna be a significant task for him, it seems.

Now he’s obviously talented enough to turn it around at some point but it would hardly surprise me much if it didn’t happen for a while. They’ve got plenty of time left to wait and see though.

Bo might be our most important player. Maybe. But we go as far as a Vlad takes us. I’ve said it before.
