We won by default tonight because we scored our last 3 runs on hit by pitches, bases loaded walks and defensive errors. We didn’t even need to hit. The orioles handed us the win on a silver platter. Glad we escaped this game, now let’s just get the split and even this series tomorrow. If we win tomorrow afternoon, we’ll only be 5.5 games back of Baltimore.

Let’s save our offensive revival for the hated Red Sox. We are due to win one game against them.

Maybe they should wear something that could make it easier for them to make the right pitch calls.

Like, hang an iPad in front of their face with Gameday on it?

I agree that the job of home-plate ump is much harder than ever because of the velocity and movement of pitches...in the same PA that he blew strike three on Mountcastle, he also called a strike that was a good three inches too low. But that's why it's time to just give in and put the tech in control, because it's clearly beyond the ability of humans to get consistently right.

From what I have read, there are still issues with just tech screwing players over,so maybe goggles for the umps or something like that, and a sensor in home plate. The robo umps have been calling way more strikes than balls according to some in the minors. In the end..imo it will end up being a combo of both.

Yusei is our ace.

There was actually one last night as crazy as that sounds (it was the catcher to first version though)
Also one game that ended last night with a balk.

Wild stuff.

I want to see a game end with a pitch clock violation

Another rental bat wouldn’t add much if everyone else is failing/flailing.

Didn't think the Orioles would challenge that. There was clearly no plate obstruction by Kirk.

Nobody knows how to interpret that stupid rule, so it was probably worth a shot.

In that we're both objectively terrible, and doing great? Or in that we're on pace to have one of our best seasons, but may not make the playoffs?

This offense is so predictable and awful. Can't put together a few good hits and score with RISP. Got to be the worst in the majors at the moment. SIgh...

Management had a chance to address the hitting problem at the trade deadline, and they failed.

Who at the trade deadline was going to magically solve thier hitting issues, and hitting issues RISP? No one really great got moved at the deadline or even leading up to the deadline.

And would have 1 batter made the difference, we have holes in multiple areas, and lots of dudes slumping, so unless you think management was ready to swap out like 5-6 batters...

The Springer at 4 has failed.Put him back to leadoff.Whitt at 2,Vlad at 3..Belt at 4..Jano at 5..Chapman at 6.. xx at 7 xx at 8..Kiermaier at 9.Belt,and Jano can be flipped.
They have no clue what they are doing.Constant shifting will not improve this offence. It hasn,t,and it wont.Sticking with a lineup that makes offensive sense might.
