I would hazard a guess that it has something to do with him being one of the worst pitchers in baseball this year such that he has no business pitching a tie game in a playoff race.

But that has nothing to do with how he actually pitched that inning. Maybe he shouldn’t be in the game, but he didn’t pitch poorly that inning.
