Imagine what the Jays record would be in the National League.

Good timing with a fully rested Bassitt. And at least it's not a blister issue. Hopefully just an extra day or two..

Interesting that they're moving in Bassitt instead of going to Kikuchi. I guess this means they want their top pitchers more spread out than at the start of the season.

Is this why Gausman missed the all star game? i knew the whole "i just want to spend time with my family" excuse was bull. Why do players/teams always lie through their teeth about injuries/health issues as if admitting you're not healthy is some kind of crime?

dude has Canon,

and hits .300 in year 1....

You may want to take a look at his stats again. He's hitting .267.

yeah think that's gonna play even without power

Unless he has any power whatsoever, it won't. Jason Kendall at best.

I said going to be, not that he is. And dude has always hit close to .300 even in his small sample last year and all through minors. There is a reason he was at one point the #1 prospect in all baseball.
He'll finish the year at .300 or close to it, while providing good defense already at the fraction of the costs...

He will need to hit around 330 in the second half to finish the year around 300. You think that’s really going to happen?

There's a long, long list of baseball players who hit .300 in the minors that never were able to do it in the majors. He's got plenty of time yet, but all we know right now is that he's not even close to doing it in 2023 and that he has no power at all. There is a ton of work offensively to do there.

There is a reason he was at one point the #1 prospect in all baseball.

There was a reason Travis Snider was a top 5 prospect in the game too. So what? Prospect status doesn't always equate to major league production.

He'll finish the year at .300 or close to it, while providing good defense already at the fraction of the costs...

That's very unlikely.

Situational hitting?

With THESE Blue Jays?

It's more likely than you think. =)

I'm not sure there's another outfielder in the league who could have made that play to hold Kelly to 1st there. Ridiculous.
