seems like the league is prepared to schedule make-up games on thursday if absolutely necessary. i think the only scenario where teams wouldn't play 162 is if there weren't any playoff implications.

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

Assuming Seattle loses one of the next three (and today is seeming likely) there wouldn't be any playoff implications. So, that's good at tleast.

Remainder of the games are now officially meaningless. Time for MAXIMUM KIKUCHI.

Or even better, postpone them. Can't see them playing tomorrow with that forecast anyway so they'll probably schedule a doubleheader for Wednesday and see what they can get in. If they can play baseball, Jays obviously shouldn't play most of their regulars in the field or use legitimate any bullpen arms.

We're also about to see the Mariners and Rays both try to tank their remaining games. Rays will win that tank battle, I'm sure.

Gonna predict a lineup of Moreno (C), Biggio (1B), Merrifield (2B), Espinal (SS), Lopez (3B), Tapia (LF), Zimmer (CF), and JBJ (RF) in the field with Kikuchi dominating on the mound.

Give Phelps an inning.
Richards an inning.
Romano an inning.
Yimi an inning.
Bass an inning.
Cimber 1 out.
Pop 5 outs....

White and Kiku pitch a lot!!

Just enough juice to keep each key arm active but very rested 3 days before Friday.

We can really put every pitcher in a prime position.

Short of winning the division, hosting the Mariners for 3 is about the best scenario we/and upper brass could have wanted.

Kikuchi throws nine IP tomorrow with his left arm. Throws nine IP Wednesday with his right. I see no flaws with this plan.

Best way to validate his 12 M salary this year.

Kikuchi hits for himself…. or
Gurriel DH’s but is instructed not to swing.

So while Berrios sucked on aggregate, he still had the same number of quality starts as Gausman. And its not like his velocity numbers or pitch mix were any different from previous years. I think Atkins would still bet on Berrios righting himself and coming back in 2023 as a middle of the rotation starter everyone expects him to be. 28 is no age for falling off a cliff.

Wait a second. So all 3 games will be played in Toronto? If so I think we have a very good chance of advancing. Need to win that first game at home. Home crowd noise will be HUGE! The next series against Houston will be tough however.

Tampa has the tiebreaker vs Seattle, so that would put Seattle's magic number at 2 for the second wildcard right?

I really do not want to play Tampa.

I think our crowd will rattle Robbie Ray to his core in game 1 or 2.

will the mariners even start ray in game 1 or 2? my guess is they'd probably go castillo-gilbert (barring either of them starting today or tomorrow).

With his contract, they have no choice but to bet on him righting himself for next year.

I suspect that both he and Kikuchi will be offered plenty of training opportunities over the offseason.

Don't want to play Tampa either, sick of them. They have so much playoff experience too but either way we should be 65% or so favorite to win.
