Dude looks in shape. Much skinnier.

The 2 million extra in arbitration is worth it if he’s coming back like this.

Then after signing the 300M+ contract he packs it all back. It speaks to his lack of professionalism and work ethic.

This. Fat vladdy realizes that hes costing himself 100s of millions by being an undisciplined fat f uck. So he'll get back on the treadmill for the next year and a half and as soon as some team offers him the bag in January of '26, promptly go back to his gluttonous ways.

Still one of the weirdest falls I’ve seen. Dude’s stuff was electric, then blisters, then arm problems, then batting practice. I guess if Manoah never comes back that tops it, but this one still hurts.

Hey, is there any conventional wisdom about what went down between him and Stroman? Always wondered.

Not sure how true it is, but a poster on this forum back in 2017 mentioned a rumour about Sanchez dating a girl that Stroman had been with or was interested in. Not sure how accurate that was. Also, Sanchez had switched agents to Scott Boras in January 2017, leaving the same agency that Stroman was with. Apparently that further resulted in some tension between them since Sanchez did not really tell Stroman and the agency about his plans to switch to Boras.

Top 10 remaining MLB free agents: Updates and thoughts on where each player could sign - The Athletic

3. Cody Bellinger, 1B/OF
Age: 28
2023 (Cubs): WAR: 4.4
Slash line: .307/.356/.525
HR: 26 RBI: 97 SB: 20

Bellinger is the best-available position player on the free-agent market and because he is relatively young he’s been quite demanding in terms of years and dollars. His ability to play first base and all three outfield positions increases his value as well. The Cubs, Blue Jays and Angels seem to be the most likely destinations for Bellinger, who won the NL Comeback Player of the Year Award last season and finished 10th in the league MVP voting. His first choice appears to be re-signing with Chicago, but the staredown in negotiations between Cubs president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer and Bellinger’s agent, Boras, is shaping up to be epic. Hoyer has never been afraid to walk away from deals — just ask Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo.

4. Matt Chapman, 3B
Age: 30
2023 (Blue Jays): WAR: 4.4
Slash line: .240/.330/.424
HR: 17 RBI: 54 OPS+: 108

The Blue Jays and Giants are the two teams that have shown the most interest in Chapman, who remains one of the best defensive third baseman of this era and won his fourth Gold Glove Award in 2023. He had 58 extra-base hits last year and played in 140 games, his fifth straight full season with at least that many. The Giants have the best shot of landing him at this point.

With Turner likely taking a lot of DH ABs for us this year where would Bellinger play if we were to sign him?

Yikes, what is Atkins smoking... Aren't we supposed to be trying to significantly improve our offense?

LOL I don't get why we traded otto lopez who is younger has 1 year of minor league options, only to trade him for cash and bag balls.

Then go out and sign Eduardo to a minor league deal.

Why not just keep Otto? I get it he's on the 40 man, and Eduardo is not.

Umm, he would start in LF and make Varsho their 4th outfielder…. Which is all he deserves given last years performance at the plate. Or they would likely try to trade Springer’s contract, since Atkins said anything significant would require subtraction.

Saw the first tweet, got very confused about what Toronto is doing. Saw the second tweet and felt much better.

Might have something to do with Otto Lopez posting a 65 wRC+ in 350 PAs in Buffalo last year. When you're not even good enough to be a bench warmer in the minors, it's probably time to cut bait.
