Wow, what an inexcusable catcher’s interference.

Can the talking heads stop acting like Berrios is having a "good season despite a few blow ups" . He's lucky his ERA isn't a lot worst he can't miss bats.

Yeah can't convince me Jansen is a better defensive catcher than Kirk.

And someone please tell Arash it ain't that serious.

His FIP and xFIP are somewhat better than his ERA. On the other hand, his xERA is slightly worse.

Not sure about you guys, but I’m finding it hard to enjoy the game without hearing from Gunnar Henderson every couple of innings.

Crosses fingers just need 2 more solid innings from Berrios with 0 hits & 0 runs.

I’m thinking that one might be his last. He hasn’t exactly inspired confidence today.

OT:

do you think they'd ever treat 2nd and 3rd base like they do 1st base?

like you can run past the base, but if you don't make a move to 3rd base, or home, then you're called safe at the point of contact, and the play is dead.

Just in case any doubt remained: we're absolutely making the playoffs. Now it's just a question of Wild Card seeding.

We lose a random July game: 75 posts.

We win to basically clinch a playoff spot: 17 posts from pregame all the way through to postgame.

I guess after tomorrow, it's time to start cheering for the Orioles. Would be wonderful if they somehow catch up to Tampa.

Also, I guess that this win means that I'm making the next series thread as well? I'll have to start planning.

Absolutely. Because 15 games is the same thing as 80 games.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

If Bo had anything like a .063 slg percentage over 80 games, you might have a point. But as you’ve been told a bazillion times, Bo was actually an above average hitter from the start of May to the start of September. He literally only had a bad April.

Juan Soto is one of the best hitters of this generation, he was traded for the largest prospect haul in history. The Padres are in a playoff race and desperately need this guy. Yet he’s slumping like that. Bo is not as good a hitter as Juan Soto, Vladdy is not as good a hitter as Juan Soto. And you certainly can’t say the guy can’t handle the spotlight of a playoff race after what he did in the 2019 postseason. It’s just baseball.

Also, Bo has an fWAR of 4.4 to Soto’s 3.0.
