Lots of competition for that last bench spot. Barger looks good and is probably the best of the bunch, but he likely starts in Buffalo to get regular playing time.

If they view the spot as glued to the bench 95% of the time - like Zimmer last year - then they might go with a one-dimensional speedster like Wynton Bernard. But if they're looking for positional versatility and a guy who looks like he can handle the bat, my vote is Otto Lopez.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

I think Lopez is the best option. Barger is being groomed to be Matt Chapman's replacement in 2024. There is no way they are going to give Chapman, who will turn 31 in the first month of the 2024 season, a large multiyear contract. Especially since Barger has the big arm needed for playing 3B. Good organizations have a decent replacement for a player like Chapman ready. Houston let Correa and Springer walk, and just plugged young players from their development program in their place and kept on winning.

Looks like the same Berrios from last year. This was a bad acquisition and signing by Atkins.

What happened? I haven't been watching the ST games.

When I search him up, all I see is praise for a solid debut. And he had an identical box score to Bassitt.

Was he giving up hard contact again?

The Kooch is dealing. Is he slotted for the #5 spot this year, or bullpen?

he's probably gonna get his shot at #5 to begin the season. thats what they signed him for.

He was rocked a bit in the first inning when the post above was made. Then he settled down nicely the next two innings.
