Unnecessary but justifiable I suppose.

The bottom line is they were not hitting Bassitt at all. So why?

Rare time I agreed with the decision. Bassit had been through lineup 3 times. Top of the lineup coming up and they had some success in the 4th against him.

I had thought of that and so it wasn’t a terrible decision. I just think you give the nod to your veteran after only 80 pitches. Much worse for the team mojo if Romano screws it up than if Bassitt screws it up himself. I gave it about even odds.

Happy to eat crow on the Belt signing. Thought there was a good chance he was washed. Not only is he not washed, he's still a well above average hitter.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

I had a good feeling Belt would hit.He is a pain in the ass when he is right, and makes pitchers throw too many pitches. He will soon be hitting bombs to right, and center field here.He had a 28 pitch,14 minute AB in Anaheim when with SF.I posted it soon after we signed him.It shows what a good eye he has.As long as they keep him after Vlad, and keep the 20 run vs TB lineup intact, things will be better.
I think pitchers are starting to hate having to face Vlad, then Belt.Keep his knee healthy.

Talk about being efficient. 81 pitches over 8 innings is pretty impressive stuff.

Our starting pitching is carrying us this season. Let's hope everyone stays healthy.

pretty much on par with some of the new players on the team that they probably come around closer to the halfway point to get comfortable with the new league, pitchers, stadiums, teammates etc.

Welp. Looks like this one might be over early with how we looked against Valdez in that 1st inning.

Any kind of serious injury to Kiermaier would be significant. No team needs more Biggio.

How do the Astros have 9 (Good?) Starting pitchers (3 injured), and we struggle to have 5.
