To think we have this guy for another 2 more seasons including this one. He's injury prone and getting old. Overpay?

There was a reason why the Astros were only offering Springer a 3 year deal and a team option (when current Jays VP of Strategy James Click was their GM). Only reason Springer came to Toronto was that no team offered a Guaranteed 6 year deal besides the Jays.

Weren't the mets on him too? I think they offered 5 years IIRC and Jays closed the deal at 6 for him to come

That is correct. Jays came in with 6 years and 150 million, which no other team matched including the Mets. Mets last offer was at 20 million a year (it was reported Mets did not want to exceed that and go to 25 million). The Mets also did not want to guarantee a 6th year, which the Jays also did.

pathetic at bats from vlad and bo. Kirby literally throwing 100% fastballs and these guys STILL late on every single one.

What the hell are these guys doing at the plate? i thought offspeed stuff was their kryptonite and that their fastball hitting champs. Yet this guy is literally ONLY throwing fastballs and they are either just looking at them or way late. Like WTF?

The offense sucks but Kirby is an all star level pitcher lol he's not some scrub out there.

I understand that, but the guy is still just throwing one pitch. There should be no guessing at this point, everyone that comes up should be sitting on fastballs, yet they're late on every swing as though they're surprised Kirby threw them a fastball?

This is unreal. This team used to mash fastballs up,and down the lineup.
Bichette Sr was here for that. Now we have a HC with crappy career stats.
Still, the players should just watch tape from those hot seasons, and rake SMH.

Guerrero has absolutely no clue at the plate.

Wouldn't want to swing at a fastball right down the middle Vlad

Return to Toronto Blue Jays
