Picked up his option for 2011, which is not a surprise, because it's cheap and Riggleman deserves to show what he can do with what should be a fairly better team in 2011 (if they spend some in FA to address needs at 2B and possibly 1B).
Riggleman has been really questionable the last two months, and its starting to add up. Down 6-1 with two outs in the seventh and the bases loaded a couple of weeks ago, why would you not pinch-hit a power hitter (Mike Morse) for Nyjer Morgan, up at the plate? Last night, why double switch out Morse after he has two bombs? Why did he not shake up the lineup after the Nats went into their offensive funk?
I think he's under some edicts from Rizzo (Morgan is an everyday player, showcase both Guzman and Kennedy, etc.) but his performance has been very average this year.
We all know he might not be the kind of guy that can light a fire under his team with a fiery speech, or kick ass in the clubhouse when its needed...
