Nats' call-ups

Danny Espinsosa and Wilson Ramos join the big club. I would assume we'll also see a pitcher or two to pad the bullpen, but for right now, that's all we got.

Ramos is the #2 catcher next year who will become the #1 as the season progresses, or certainly by 2012. He's got a dynamite arm, although he's been somewhat inconsistent with the bat in his minor-league career. At Syracuse he batted .316 with three homers in 82 AB, though.

Espinosa was at AA most of the year (.262, 18HR, 20 SB) but had been playing at Syracuse lately. He's also been playing second base, where the Nats figure to give him a shot at next year. Desmond has looked much better of late with the bat and with the glove, but he's there if drops off at short next year as well.

Been dynamite in the minors with his combination of power and speed. Good with the glove as well, although like Desmond he commits a fair amount of errors. Has yet to commit one at second though in very limited time (just started there a couple of weeks ago).
