Homestand concludes tonight with three against the M's, who have been pretty hot of late. They won't cry losing the DH, as they're a team that relies on pitching more than anything. Fortunately Washington misses King Felix in this series, although I would have loved to see him pitch.

Livo goes against giant skinny dude Doug Fister tonight. Fister is pretty good, but he hardly ever gets much run support.

Going to be fun to watch Dustin Ackley, just got called up last week.Doug Fister is 3-8 but with a 3..53 ERA or something like that, gets like 2 runs per game from his offense. This is a game or series that we should win (either winning 2 of 3 or sweeping). Mariners can't hit.

Not sure I understand how its a series the Nationals SHOULD win. "COULD WIN" sure, but Seattle has the better pitcher going in all three games. Especially the final two.

Should be a fun series. I was always a fan of Morse when he was with Seattle and was upset he never got proper playing time, even though he always seemed to put up good numbers. The 'roids probably had a lot to do with him getting dealt.

I'm speaking as a fan, but it can go either way. Ms are a good team who have trouble hitting. Nats offense is more potent.

Wilson Ramos with a walk off home run! Nats win 6-5. Great come back. As soon as League left the game, I thought they had a chance to at least tie the game, didn't expect them to win. Great win.

Amazing game last night, but of course I left in the eighth inning. Lannan goes against Bedard tonight--but interesting to see the former Orioles' stuff again firsthand.

M's played some defense last night--and Zim hit into THREE double plays, but it didn't matter. Good, cause I have a problem losing a series to any team that bats Adam Kennedy third.

BTW, as good as the M's defense was last night, it's especially pissing me off that Werth has five errors already, including one last night on a routine transfer to his glove that turned a single into a guy on second and cost the Nats a run.

With his salary, he should at least forfeit what he makes in an inning per error--about 11k. In four innings the guy makes what a schoolteacher makes in a year...

Nostradamus over here. The name of the game is to outscore your opponent, that's how you win. Mariners can't score, so why was it all surprising that I said we could take 2 out of 3? Burnett/Clippard/Storen are lights out innings 6-8. If H-Rod can ever get his control issues in check, we'd have a very solid bullpen.

Nats win! Nix with a fly ball to left field to score Espinosa from third. They sweep the series and are now 38-37 on the year.

Marquis had an awesome game but picked up the no decision. Clippard came in and was lights out per usual.

My entire office took an afternoon of leave and went to the game.

Except me b/c I'm buried in work.
