Wow, the Astros having a hard time getting to .333--kind of makes the Nats' problems seem small by comparison.

Three in Houston, with the Nats coming off a tough loss, but hopefully encouraged at how they battled the Braves' best starters tooth and nail all series.

Michael Bourn, Hunter Pence, Brett Wallace and some okay starting pitching--that's all the Astros are. Pence and Bourn should be traded soon, and we can only pray Pence doesn't make his way to Phily. Outside chance Nats are one of the teams that might come calling for Bourn...

Astros do throw out a nice young starting pitcher out there tonight in Jordan Lyles. He's 0-4 but he has great stuff. Nats counter with Marquis, who also could be on the move at the deadline as Wang FINALLY might pitch in DC soon. According to one report the league doesn't value Jason's services nearly as much as the Nats think they should, though.

If we lose a game in this series, I seriously may not watch another Nats game this year. There is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't walk in there and sweep.

Touch and go for a little last night but the Nats pull it out. Marquis and Lyles pitched very good games, respectively, and it was hard not to be impressed by Lyles, who is only 20.

It just keeps getting worse for Werth. Oh he walked last night, but in the eighth when the Nats were scoring most of their runs, he was on third with one out, and batter hit a pop fly to the deep infield--no chance it drops....

Werth falls down in between third and home and gets caught in a rundown and doubled off. Oh it didn't matter--Nats up 5-2, but it was laughable.

JA Happ versus JZ today--have to like the Nats' odds in this one, although Happ is decent-just having a down year.

Doesn't help that Haap is pitching in a worse park than Citizens Bank (in terms of homers and stuff). And yeah, that Werth fall...I just shook my head. Of course that happens to him.

Nats lose a tough one last night in a slugfest as Zimmermann surprisingly gets hit hard.

But this afternoon, with Livo versus Brett Myers, MR JAYSON WERTH HAS JUST HOMERED IN THE SIXTH TO TIE THE GAME AT TWO!!!!

Has another hit this game--could it be his massive slump could be finally coming to an end???
