5th Starter

Post#1 » by NuggetsWY » Wed Oct 25, 2023 9:48 pm

Jokic & Murray are a superstar combination.
Gordon & KCP seem like perfect fits with them.

Is Porter the right 5th starter? I love his game, but it seemed a little inconsistent last year.

Braun & Holiday seem like they might be nice fits with the other four starters.

Any guesses on who is the 5th starter at playoff time?
My guess would be based on consistency:
35% chance for Holiday
33% chance for Braun
32% chance for Porter

You don't mess with success. In the Laker game Tuesday, MPJ had a double double, 12 points and 12 rebounds but did you notice that he had a +/- of 12, the second highest +/- in the game after Jokic's 15. His shot is missing at the moment but his overall play including defense is very good.

We all have seen enough of MPJ's outside shooting in the past to know that it is only a matter of time before that focus clicks back in and when it does, the Nuggets will be especially deadly.

It's a perfect fit and the Nuggets starting five are the best in the league.
Canned in Denver.

Agree here, plus he has readily accepted his role for the good of the team. Also, just to be fair, he had no preseason PT to get his shooting stoke back to form, just give him time

Porter despite being SF is our 2nd best rebounder, and when healthy he is our best 3-point shooter. Also, MPJ is a max-contract player, which would humiliate the front office if such a player is not the starter. If Braun anyone replaces as starter it would be KCP.

?? Porter. For your set up.

KCP is perfect 5th guy. So could be Braun.

The only wonder is if you trade KCP sooner rather than later. Knowing you have Braun and then Strawther to each take 1 step up. A huge improvement on Reggie might be worth it. Bogdanovic. Maybe Brogdon

MPJ certainly is looking like a good piece of the starting lineup so far, on his way to a 2nd double-double. A strong support to Joker IMO. If anyone is looking like the 5th starter it’s KCP

MPJ with 20 points and his outside shooting looks much better.

Porter Jr stepping up again with 22/9 while playing some decent D again, he and AG are looking formidable in the frontcourt with Joker.

And honestly, could Strawther be the SGOTF ???
