No one outside of Chicago is going to cry any tears for Pierzynski, but man, it must sting to play so well and get Jason **** Varitek voted in over you.

John Danks is also better than Saunders and Santana, but hey, he only has 6 wins. That's how you judge a pitcher, right? Wins?

Vote Giambi/Burrell for the last spots or i'm banning you all.

I can do that, as far as you know.

Look at this homer trying to get another Yankee in, vote Longoria.

Then make sure you write MLB and give them a hard time for giving you the option to vote in Jose Guillen and not BJ Upton.

Though the fans are stupid, I doubt that Giambi gets voted in. I mean, nobody can stand that guy.

I won't campaign for Dye because he's a virtual lock. I don't see any of those guys getting voted in over him.

Giambi gets the spot hands down, playing for the Yankees and it's in New York.

As for the rosters, how Tek is at the game is beyond me. Players really have no business voting for this either. I know Tek is a very respected player in baseball, but he just doesn't belong.

Really shocked Mike Lowell is not on the team. Even worse that he's not one of the final five.

I think the AL pitching is pretty much what it should be. You could make a case for Dice-K, Danks, Jenks, Wheeler, etc. But I don't think any of the guys selected are not worthy themselves.

For the NL Aaron Cook is having a nice season, but there are better options. I have no idea why Brian Wilson is going to the game either, he has no business being there. If you want another reliever take Rauch, Lyon, or Cordero.

Christian Guzman over Jose Reyes is really a joke. Again could have used Jon Rauch as the Nats rep. I believe David Wright deserves to be there over Ramirez, but it's much closer. I also can't say that Miguel Tejada deserves to be there either.

As for the final five, I believe Dye, Roberts, and Giambi are all All-Stars. And Longoria is just as good as Crede and Mike Lowell. As for the NL I'm assuming David Wright wins it, but Pat the bat should be the guy who gets it.

I think Giambi's well-publicized douchiness + the steroid thing will trump the NY factor. You must also factor in the way Sox fans go nuts voting for these Extra Man's - remember Podsednik in 05 and Pierzynski in 06. You think anyone else around the country was voting for those guys? **** no. They probably shouldn't have even been on the final ballots.

I think Giambi will get the vote with the power of the stache. People will look at him and be like, "See that's a man's man. He deserves to make the 1974 All-Star Game."

Thanks to the idiotic player voting, Longoria's spot went to Crede. But either way, this game needs more mustache.

LOL at varitek making it with his .219 avg...

I don't care if giambi is an admited steroid user, that's all in the past and has nothing to do with his play this year. Hope he makes it, he deserves it. I'm also surprised Mussina didn't make it. He's been outstanding for us this year.

Giambi's having a slightly better offensive season than Dye, but JD is having a Gold Glove-caliber season in rightfield. Check yer metrics if you don't believe me.

Jason Varitek made it instead of AJ Pierzynski who not only has much better numbers than Varitek..but he catches the best pitching staff in the Majors. Makes no sense at all.
Also Gavin Floyd or John Danks should have made the team and this is coming from a Cub fan.

Why did Xavier Nady not make the all-star roster? And why is he not on the final 5?

.321 AVG, 12 HR, 53 RBI, 40 RUNS and he leads the NL in outfield assists.

Aaron Rowand:

.303 AVG, 8 HR, 47 RBI, 40 RUNS

Why is he on the final 5?

Cory Hart:

.294 AVG, 14 HR, 53 RBI, 43 RUNS

Why did he make it and not Nady.

MLB All Star game, FAIL!!!!!!

Yeah, Nady shoulda at least been in the final 5. But I don't think you would take Hart out to replace him. Hart is having a helluva season. Oh and Hart's numbers are .296 14 55 with a .335 obp, just saying.

Lol. Nady and Hart have the same .OBP. Nady has a .542 slugging and .927 OPS. Hart, .506 slugging and .844 OPS, just saying

According to ESPN Nady has Hart beat in OBP by a lot with .382:
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/p ... atsId=6610
Hart has a .335 OBP
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/p ... atsId=7336

Saying all that, Nady definitley deserves to be on the team. Maybe he could be an injury replacement if Soriano can't play.

I think that spot really has to go to Pat Burell. Assuming that David Wright wins the voting.
