ReddBogutCharlieV wrote:Yeah, Nady shoulda at least been in the final 5. But I don't think you would take Hart out to replace him. Hart is having a helluva season. Oh and Hart's numbers are .296 14 55 with a .335 obp, just saying.

A .335 obp is average to below average for a corner outfielder. There are worse selections already on the teams, but Hart shouldn't be on there.

In all seriousness, Giambi, Dye, Longoria, and Roberts are all defensible picks for the final spot in the AL. But it's Burrell and it's not close for the final NL spot.

Tejada didnt get in cause of the fan voting. The players voted him in.

I think you underestimate how nutty Milwaukee fans are with their voting. Ryan Braun was 8th a month ago in the outfield voting. Then FSN Wisconsin and the team began their Braun campaign and he ended up 2nd OVERALL in fan votes in the NL. Now they're doing the same with Hart. Corey is going to win this thing and it won't be close.

Also Gavin Floyd or John Danks should have made the team and this is coming from a Cub fan.

That's respect :D

*Daps*

Honestly, I don't know how Jason made it. I don't care if he's respected, he doesn't deserve his spot. I also don't know how one of our pitchers, any of them, didn't make the All-Star game, especially John Danks. His W-L record stinks because our offense sucked when he has pitched, but he has been FIL-FEE! A case could be made for other 3B over Crede, but I look at it as retribution for '06 because he really should've made it taht year and won a GG.

Evan Longoria not making it is a croc. I never though I would see Christinan Guzman in an ASG. But still, anyone else agree that Jason Varitek is the worst all-star in the history of the game?

Danks should have made it, but he isn't even the lefty starter who got most screwed. Introducitng Cole Hamels, who didn't make it over Brian "Saves" Wilson. Theres also Johan, Marcum, and Hudson who should have made it, but starters aren't important, as we all know.

Also, this is Guzman's 2nd all-star game, I kid you not.

I don't think people truly realize how bad of decision it was to include Guillen in the final 5 vote, he has a sub .300 OBP. Good thing for all those RBI!

I think it could be about Zambrano will be pitching on 6 days rest unlike Webb/Lincecum.
Also he probably wants a Zambrano/Soto battery out there.

Mike Williams in 03 was pretty terrible. 0-3 record with a 6.29 ERA. Mark Redman was another one a few years ago.

So no Tek is not the worst all-time, but I do admit he's up there.

Tejada/Guzman over Reyes/Hardy is a joke.

Wright trumps Ramirez in every offensive statistical category and David hasn't even gone on a hot streak yet.

Lance Carter was a bad one in 03 also.

Dye is probably the most deserving, but since Joe flippin' Crede stole Longo's spot, Longoria will get my vote. I'd rather watch one of the best looking 3B talents to enter the league in quite some time play than an admitted 'roid user with a hideous mustache.

Brian Roberts is also having a hell of a year, too, but he has no shot.

I'm not going to disagree with Longoria over Crede, but IMO Mike Lowell should be in that conversation as well. Had Longoria made it over Lowell I wouldn't have really had a problem. I do have an issue with Crede over Lowell tho. Still shocked Mike wasn't one of the final five either.

Brian Roberts is having a very good season. Problem is he is third behind Kinsler and Pedroia. While Roberts was on my team, I don't think it's a huge injustice for him being left out.
