I haven't followed baseball this year closely enough to have my picks for the players in the game but I would say that Chipper Jones definitely deserves to be in the game.

NEW YORK — Over the past 24 hours, as fans continue to cast their votes for the final roster spot on the American and National League All-Star Teams, the Monster 2008 All-Star Game Final Vote program exclusively on MLB.com surpassed a pair of significant milestones.

The number of votes cast in the first three days of voting has reached 33 million, easily surpassing the previous mark of 23.1 million recorded last year with a full day of voting left. Additionally, the Monster All-Star Game Final Vote program has now totaled more than 100 million votes cast since its inception in 2002.

Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Evan Longoria continues to hold off the charges of his closest two competitors in the American League, Jermaine Dye of the Chicago White Sox and Jason Giambi of the New York Yankees, as each has totaled more than 3.75 million votes. Brian Roberts of the Baltimore Orioles and Jose Guillen of the Kansas City Royals round out the current standings in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

Wow, that's a lot of votes.

Brian Roberts is also having a hell of a year, too, but he has no shot.

I'm not going to disagree with Longoria over Crede, but IMO Mike Lowell should be in that conversation as well. Had Longoria made it over Lowell I wouldn't have really had a problem. I do have an issue with Crede over Lowell tho. Still shocked Mike wasn't one of the final five either.

Lowell should have made it over Crede, AJ should have made it over Varitek. I'd call that a wash.

Sad part of it is was when I first saw the roster I thought Francona put Tek on the team. I'm happy he wasn't that dumb.

To be honest I would have had only 1 backup catcher. Nothing against AJ, just think there is more deserving players in the outfield.

Soriano won't play so Matt Holliday will start in place of him.

If Berkman wins the Derby he will consider this season a success.

Kudas to Vitale for being a season ticket holder for 11 years. I was going to call him a bandwagoner, but that **** takes commitment.

Carlos Marmol will be replacing Kerry Wood at the All-Star game. Nothing like letting someone like Hamels, Lyon, Rauch, who actually have numbers to go to the game. Stupid ass Hurdle.

I know all about Hamilton's power and noticed I put the laughing face on, I was being sarcastic.

If the Cubs don't win a WS, you guys will consider this season a failure.

I'm pretty sure the Astros have already considered this season a failure especially with all YOUR high expectations this offseason. Remember those?

Yes I do, I am aware we suck right now, but the season is not over.

Good luck in the postseason.
