bit from bradford on eei: Kemp might still be on the backburner. but sox want bay, and have been scouting him for a month or so.

interesting, I hope they go for Kemp if this bay deal is falling through. We might need to take on andruw jones contract...yuck. but for kemp, i would do it.

The Yankees and Red Sox are both in on Scott Eyre, according to ESPN's Jayson Stark.
The Cubs are willing to move him and probably aren't asking for a lot. Still, he's not any team's preferred option for a lefty specialist. That's why he's available in the first place.

The Cubs are in talks with the Texas Rangers for Milton Bradley.

Are you guys serious enough about pitching to be willing to give up a Michael Young or a Milton Bradley?

Uh...a trade has actually happened already: Arthur Rhodes to the Marlins for minor-leaguer Gaby Hernandez. Just thought it worth this post.

Manny talks now dead...

Manny 3 way is completely dead. According to many sources.

Sean McCaddam thinks that a trade involving manny is unlikely to get done.

Un-freakin-believable.

Jays are apparently targeting Raul Ibanez, either because JP Ricciardi is delusional (likelihood: 98%), or because he's trying to pilfer the comp picks when Ibanez becomes a free agent (likelihood that JP is aware that Ibanez is on the verge of free agency: incalculable).

I can't see how the Sox could possibly want to hold onto Manny after everything that's happened over the past few days. You can't have a guy saying that his team doesn't "deserve" to have him and then not trade him. At this point they MUST trade him, IMO.

Ibanez, Vidro and a low-level prospect for starting pitching, please.

Want Ricky Romero? He's a 23 year old LHSP, just got promoted to AAA, and was a top-6 draft pick.

(Please, don't look up his stats)

*looks up Ricky Romero's stats*

*feels imminent heart attack*

What's the asking price on Burnett and McGowan?

Based on the Washburn demands, expect the M's to ask for Holliday, McGowan, and the Canadian side of Niagra falls.

Compared to Gaby Hernandez, who the Ms just got for Rhodes, Romero probably looks like Cy Young.

I can see why. The Canadian side is much prettier.

Pelekoudas is in a tough spot, he needs to make a major splash and teams know it. They're still in denial in Seattle about the situtaion there. I think they've targeted some guys to move but for some reason some guys like Betancourt, Lopez, Putz, Clement appear to be untouchable. Expect a few more years of rock bottom for the Ms. The real motivation is empty seats and that hasnt really kicked in that much up there yet.

McGowan is down for the year with a frayed labrum, which means that his trade value is undoubtedly toilet-bound. Doubt that the Jays would want to dump him.

Why would you want Burnett? To get him, you'd have to trade prospects whose value at least equate to a round 1s and round 2 pick, because that's his likely off-season return for the Jays if he can knock half a point off his ERA. And since the M's are in no position to compete, those picks would be his only value to them, as well. Don't make much sense, that.
