I agree, but my post was just speculation. If this ends up being the deal, I like it for everybody but the Dodgers. I have no idea what the deal is, though. There are so many conflicting reports right now.

The Sox did very well considering they absolutely had to get rid of Manny and were still able to get Jason Bay in his prime. I'm not sold on any of the prospects the Pirates acquired and while I'm not a fan of Manny on an NL team, the Dodgers didn't have to give up too much. It should be well worth the risk of LaRoche possibly breaking out on another team since Man Ram will provide a big bat down the stretch to a team that desperately needs it.

when was the last time pittsburgh came out on top in a deal (only one i can think of is the jason bay/oliver perez for brian giles deal) couldnt think of one before that

i dont blame them for making the trade but to get a bunch of fringe guys that may have a chance to be everyday players and nothing more then that is just sad

Manny, Brandon Moss, and Hanson for Bay? I can talk myself into that. Hanson cant handle Boston and Moss isnt anything but a 4th outfielder. Im just glad we got rid of Manny.
