It's true Donald has been pretty disappointing this year, as well as Marson (although not as much as Donald) but 200 AB shouldn't change your mind that much on a prospect. Carrasco hasn't really been bad this year despite his ERA and is only 22 in AAA, he is the only one of the three that would still make a top 100. But all three are still more than average prospects and this coming from someone who isn't a big fan of any of the three really.

Fair enough. I actually was a fan of Donald, but at this point he isn't reaching the majors until he is 25 years old. How many 25 years old with underwhelming numbers at AAA turn into anything special? I just can't find reason to get too excited about him right now.

You're right about Carrasco, he is too young to give up on. His peripherals are all still solid across the board, so the ERA could be a bit of bad luck. My concern is that even last year in AA with solid peripherals, he still had a higher ERA than you would expect. But like you said, he is too young with good enough numbers that there is still some hope.

I don't know much about Marson but just from looking at his numbers he hits for average and has a great BB/K ratio for a catcher. He doesn't have power but that isn't a huge deal for his position. Anybody know anything about his defense? If it is a plus then that makes him a solid prospect. He just turned 23 though. I know guys can obviously be good even if they come up late, but if you aren't reaching the majors until the age of 24 or 25 it has to hurt your prospect status just a little.

Knapp is still the only guy I'm really high on on the list though, but I see your point.

Not really, Alderson and Carrasco aren't that far apart at all. Alderson is down a little from last season because he can't strike anyone out, like he did last year, but his control has gotten even better. He's extremely polished for his age. Both he and Carrasco profile more a mid-rotation types. Edit- Oh and yeah, I'd take Knapp over both, as he has the highest upside.

Reading the "Grading The Deal: Philadelphia Grabs Cliff Lee" is pretty damn funny, as the author seems to be oblivious that the Indians already have one of the best catcher prospects in the game, who is almost MLB ready in Carlos Santana.

Echoing Buster Olney's earlier reports, Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi at FOX Sports are saying that the Marlins are indeed the most aggressive of 10 to 15 teams looking to add Heath Bell. The Marlins have the prospects to get a deal done and "could easily absorb" the $400k left owed to Bell this season. However, the Padres are said to want the Marlins' top pitching prospects in Sean West and Andrew Miller if such a deal were to happen, a high price to pay.

The Cubs acquired John Grabow and Tom Gorzelanny from the Pirates for Kevin Hart, Jose Ascanio, and Josh Harrison.

Kevin Hart started today for the Cubs opposed by Russ Ortiz of the Astros. After the game, Kevin Hart was dealt to Pittsburgh and Russ Ortiz was released.

Marlins get Nick Johnson. Nice deal for them. Apparently Jayson Stark is reporting that Angels are working on a big deal possibly Doc including Joe Saunders. If all of these late deals get done this could be one of the most exciting deadline finishes that I've seen even better than last year with Manny if this is true. Dodgers also talking with Pads late

If the Blue Jays trade Halladay and Saunders is the main piece JP needs to be fired.

SOme sources are reporting that Yonder Alonso is Player to be named later in Rolen deal and Jonathan Mayo is reporting that Austin Jackson will be traded for Hairston. If so, Brian Cashman is the stupidest man ever and worst GM ever.

Wait. It looks like Josh Roenicke and Zach Stewart with Encarnacion headed to Reds for Rolen according to John Fay. Jonathan Mayo admits to brain freeze on twitter account. Sorry to yankees fans for giving heart attacks out. I just saw the post right up on his twitter and put it up.

He'll probably just cut the deal.
