They should be competitive still, though, with that defense and Wilson still has a lot of untapped potential.

Rupture sounds pretty bad too.

But even if recovery is shorter than a tear, there must be a long rehab.

Again, a rupture is a tear. An achilles rupture is a torn achilles. They are not different.

If it's a partial tear, the recovery time can be expected to be around 3 months (murkier given his age).

Given what we've heard, however, and how "it doesn't look good," it's likely they administered a Thompson test in the locker room. You more or less lay on your stomach with your ankle hanging off the table and squeeze the calf muscle. Upon squeezing, if the achilles is still connected, there would be movement in the ankle. If there is no connectivity, there is no movement. Given there was no MRI and that it doesn't look good, it's a pretty fair assumption that there was no movement, thus an assumed full tear in the achilles.

I think the question now becomes, at age 39, is Rodgers done playing football for good?

And if so, is that the easiest $75m any athlete has ever made?

I wouldn't call leaving with a torn achilles "easy" and he took a paycut to do it. But no, I don't think he's done. He's got too much, "**** you, don't tell me I can't" in him to walk away like this IMO.

Torn Achilles is a major injury for anybody, let alone a 40 year old man.. just makes you wonder what the future holds for him

I can't see the Jets wanting him back next year though

Cause like, that's yet another year of a huge question mark at QB, he'd be turning 41 coming off an Achilles tear. Yeah Rodgers on 1 leg is still better than Zach Wilson, but still

If he isn't, then they've wasted yet another year of that defense, and even if he is good, they'd only have 1 or 2 years max with him. Even before this injury their window was short, but now it's a razor thin margin for error.
BaF Lakers:

Darius Garland/Cory Joseph
Klay Thompson/Shaedon Sharpe
Keldon Johnson/De'Andre Hunter
Evan Mobley/Tari Eason
Nic Claxton/Draymond Green

Bench: Leonard Miller, Jett Howard, Markquis Nowell, Kennedy Chandler, Day'Ron Sharpe

Unless Wilson makes a serious jump this year, he'll be back.

Call me crazy but I think Jets are still contenders. You can win in this league with just an elite defense. And we just saw Allen, who most consider to be the 2nd or 3rd best QB in the NFL, throw 3 INTs on that defense and lose to Wilson.

Rip Jets? How about Rip Bills! You can't beat that team in that situation?? A team who had their entire game plan thrown out the window after only 4 snaps? I don't know who feels worse walking off that field last night. Yeah...if your the Bills you still have your starting QB, but what good does that do you?

They shoulda blown the doors off that stadium last night. RIP Bills

I think you just saw that the Bills are doing nothing this year. It's all lipstick on a pig up there.

Kudos to the Jets for pulling it off, and yes, they are still a decent team. But that was more telling of what the Bills are, than the Jets.

So true...Dak would be crucified by the media and half the Dallas fan base, and 100% of every other fan base lol.

And Dak will likely struggle vs the Jets this week, a low scoring game with 1 or 2 INTs should be expected because that is what should be expected of EVERY Qb facing the Jets D.

Yeah I mean, dak struggled against the giants so he’s probably gonna struggle against the jets too.

depends on what you call contenders, they can win the afc east(longshot considering how dolphins looked) or make it to playoffs, maybe get a win but you gotta have at least above average qb to get to the playoffs. wilson doesnt even look top 35 qb right now.
