They want a pro-ready QB. Not a project.

They won't. It's Stroud.

Yea if Carolina really wanted Richardson, they could have probably traded for #3 and saved an asset.

I agree they're going Stroud

I don't feel the same way others do for Chicago. I think they kinda got a tad too greedy. IMHO they should've stuck with #4 at worst. Chicago could've got #4, #36, #80 or #107 and say a second or first next year from Indy. Then look at Will Anderson Jr or Jalen Carter who are the two best defensive players. Get a early second for the BPA and a decent 3rd or 4th to add another good piece plus a pick next year.

I get the need for DJ Moore but who do they then look at with their pick? Skronski or Paris Johnson to bolster their oline or go after Witherspoon, Porter Jr or Gonzalez for secondary help or Tyree Wilson ?

I think this is the first of a couple big trades. I have a feeling Vegas is probably the next team to move up at target whose left of Young or Richardson or if the price is too high they might go after Levis.

I like the trade imo they need a good wr who were they gonna get in fa that’s better than dj? The fa WR class is meh I think the panthers will be better if they take Bryce Young over CJ Stroud but that’s my opinion

I think they look at it like, 9 is a great spot to take an OT, probably the first OT, so you get Fields a #1 WR (cause DJ Moore is actually really good I guess, dude was a consistent 1k yard guy with guys like Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, and Sam Darnold throwing to him) and a top tackle, which are arguably the 2 most important positions to help a young QB besides TE

Then you just figure out the defense later. Plus, there’s a non-zero chance that Carter is still on the board at 9, nobody is questioning his talent, but if a gas mask bong caused Laremy Tunsil to drop, street racing in which someone died will cause Carter to drop too

Also, they were probably never in contention for Will Anderson anyways, if they go to 4, then Arizona almost certainly stays at 3 and gets him.

I'd have liked it more if they went to 3rd and just took whichever QB falls, if it meant giving up less assets, maybe it ends up being an Allen vs Mayfield and Darnold situation.

The drafts where there's no obvious #1 QB but 3-4 in the top 10 teams have talked themselves into are real dangerous. I do think the direct comparing them would be fun if the top 4 are all QBs.

Love what Ryan pace is doing with this squad. Seals the deal for AR15 at #1

What are the odds on JSN? Because that's the correct answer.

Everything I’m reading is that JSN is elite 2. Safe floor. Flowers has x potential

They are my top two.

JSN is an elite slot receiver. Flowers has a chance to be special too. He's a YAC guy. Electric with the ball in his hands.

Flowers reminds me more of Antonio Brown. Steve Smith is another name that often gets mentioned.

You put JSN in the Rams offense & he's the next Cooper Kupp.

Frank Reich recently said the plan is to get the #1 pick as many snaps as possible in camp with the intention of preparing them for opening day.

The brain trust seems to be all-in on the idea of taking advantage of the rookie contract window. Carolina's dead cap situation (CMC, DJ Moore and Robby Anderson mostly) clears up in 2024 so they're trying to emulate what teams like Buffalo and Philly have done adding lots of pieces around a cheap and talented QB.

If they throw everyone a curve ball and go with Richardson then Dalton probably plays more than half the year, maybe all of it. Otherwise he'll only see the field if the new face of the franchise has to miss time.

If the O/U for Dalton was set at 4 games the safe bet is to take the under.
