Was Bland the only guy to play against those QBs?

What is your point?

That you didn’t make a point.

one Bosa was injured other one played like crap first half of the season. Nick after Chase Young wouldnt have been a bad candidate if he hadnt played so bad first half of the season.

If Garrett somehow doesnt win TJ Watt might be the next in line.

looking at the historical winners, linebackers and defensive ends have won the most, safeties and cornerbacks the least. so i wouldn't bet on anyone from the secondary

Watt is likely still the winner even though he played on a worse defense. It’s not a team award though. He had a great season. Garrett was on the best defense of all these guys, again it’s not a team award though.

vast majority of those winners come from very good defenses, can't imagine a defensive player from a terrible defense winning the DPOY very often even if it is a player award.

Pass rushers impact performance of both front seven and secondary and voters are aware. If you can consistently get to the quarterback you'll get him to make mistakes and bad throws. Since Harbaugh years Niners had an elite defense with an average secondary just because their front seven has been so dominant.

If they take the best defensive player off the best defense then Garrett would be the runaway winner.

TD’s are impact plays too.

It is not that simple but probably gives him bee's dick size of advantage in a close race.

Yeah giving up too many TDs is a big problem for a defender lol
