ive heard of this tactic used in the arizona/nyg game but have never seen it in a game. smart move (or attempt by the cardinals)

I don't even understand that. So you can just kick it from the line of scrimmage at any point? What would be the benefit of ever kicking a "field goal" then? It looks like the defense was 10 yards back from the line of scrimmage, which is more than the normal 7 or 8 on a field goal. And here you don't have to worry about the snap and hold. I'm quite confused at the moment.

it can only be done after a fair catch, the only reason you'd do it is if you're going toward the end of the half or maybe end of the game
