We don't have a lot of options. We're starting 2 of Fettuccine, Muscala, Ausar or TBJr. Stewart is still out.

Who thinks we sign Knox again and trade him again next deadline?? Lol

We can't sign him this season. Next season if he doesn't find a home anywhere else I could see him as a minimum salary 15th guy for use but I also would be even happier with Umude in that role.

Why can’t we? not that I think we should

They changed the rules after 2004 when the Pistons traded away Lindsey Hunter in the trade for Rasheed Wallace and then we resigned him for a title run after the Celtics waived him without playing a game for them. They essentially wanted to close the loophole where a team could trade a player with the under the table agreement that the new team would waive that player so he could then resign with the previous team the same year.

We could resign Knox in the summer but not right now.

Totally random, but in addition to that rule we sorta played a role in the "The Gilbert Arenas Provision", with Okur being the other semi hi-profile player who moved teams because you couldn't go over the cap to resign a 2nd rounder. And then they changed the defensive rules because of us too. Damn do I miss that team.

All the talk about 2nd rounder, but Okur and Middleton being 2 of the top 4 Joe Dumars draft picks over a 14(?) year span of being a GM just goes to show that you can find all-star talent (for sure not often) at least in the early 2nd round. Joe D actually drafted two all-stars (Drummond and Middleton) in the same draft just 2 years before he was let go which is crazy rare for a team to get two in the same draft. It'd be like Ausar and Sasser both being all-stars in 3-4 years from now but Weaver being let go in a year or two before they really take off.

He got Amir Johnson in the second rd too, and he drafted Carlos Delfino in the of the first round.

You should at least watch a few games before making judgements in terms of defence for Fontecchio... among other things, with the forwards you had really you talk about defense?

this for all season

and this since was included in the starting lineup (November, 25):

and this the Detroit situation
Image

pretty bleak... the only good ones better of average are Duren and Stewart

and... Fontecchio (not Fettuccine, there is nothing funny about the nickname you gave him)

I didn't give him that nickname, someone else did and it's funny.

Fettuccini is a bad defender, just because we are the worst team in NBA history doesn't make him any better.

I don't get it either. They don't sound alike, and even if they did, is it our first time encountering a name other than Smith, Johnson, or Thomas?

“Fettuccine” strikes me as boomer humor. I don’t see it as racist more than it just sounds like a middle aged white dude trying to be funny

Yeah, I heard Darren McCarty call him that on Woodward sports.

I personally think it’s super goofy.

I like the Tek-9ineteen moniker.

Yeah "fettuccine" was cute like the first few times. But ain't this point I wish people would stop saying it. It hasn't been funny for days now.

It's corny as hell. It's really not hard to learn to spell their actual names

We can do it, we have accomplished harder things as a society

Or its how my phone kept correcting it.

Not that deep.

Now I'm calling him Tek. As in tek 19. Like tec-9, or glock-19.

You know, for the shooting.

I haven't learned to spell his name yet either and have just been referring to him as "Font".

What, you think you caught some closeted Italian racist?

1910-20 called, they want their suspicion back.
