Detroit trades:
RIP Hamilton
Jason Maxiell
#29

Utah trades:
Carlos Boozer
Ronnie Brewer

Why for Detroit?

They get younger. They get a legit 20 and 10 big man in Boozer. Boozer would average 12+ Rebounds per game on Detroit. They get a solid young SG who's athletic and can defend. Would be a great SG to pair with Stuckey for a future backcourt. Sheed can cover up Boozer's sub par D.

C:Sheed/Dice
F:Boozer/Amir
F:Prince/AA
G:Price/Stuckey
G:Billups/Stuckey

Why for Utah?

Boozer is a poor defender. He was outplayed by Scola and Landry in round one, and been outplayed big time by Gasol and Odom. Boozer's D makes Okur look like a defensive stud. Boozer's playoffs have been sup par and the Jazz have done better with him on the bench than playing. They have a solid young PF waiting in the wings in Paul Millsap. Jason Maxiell will also be great for them and they'd have a great you duo of PFs who can both play defense. Rip gives them a legit 20 PPG scorer and ton of big game experience.

C:Okur/Maxiell
F:Millsap/Maxiell
F:AK47/Harpring
G:RIP/Korver
G:Williams/Brewer

Utah says no.....their go to move is the P&R, and generally you don't trade a 20-10 big man for a 20ppg SG. Boozer had a cpl of bad games and that's no reason to trade him. Utah is happy with Brewer as is.

QFT

Boozer is a very nice big man, but Utah actually thinks he's Karl Malone good  No way they trade him anytime soon, period.

If Utah was willing to part with him, I'd definitely like him in a Pistons uniform.

Utah will NEVER trade Boozer, and certainly not for that package. Next.

As much as I'd love to get Boozer on the Pistons, I don't see this package bringing him to Motown. When you look at Utah, you'd have to think that Williams and Boozer are untouchable and you keep working on improving the other parts of their team. No reason to trade the two young solid players on their team unless you get an insane package. Even Tay, Max, Stuckey and our first might not do it.

We'd have to give up a lot more to get Boozer, they probably don't want Rasheed, due to age. And Maxiell is basically Paul Millsap to them. I just don't think we have the assets to pull him in, we'd have to throw Amir in there, bunches of first rounders, and it still probably wouldn't be enough.

I don't want him. He has no morals.

^He betrayed a blind old man. :(

But I echo what everyone else has said. I'd want the guy, but they won't trade him to us.

Unless Larry Miller hires Isiah as president of basketball operations I don't see this happening. You don't trade big for small.

^Even Isiah never traded big for small, unless you count Antonio Davis for Jalen Rose and a draft pick.

I really think if Utah was to move one of their big men (Okur, Boozer, or AK47) it should be Boozer.

He's got the best stats, and best trade value. But Boozer has underperformed bigtime down the stretch and they have Millsap backing him up and outplaying him.

They aren't going to beat a team with Duncan, West, Amare, etc at PF because a Boozer/Okur frontcourt can't get it done defensively.

I agree that this trade doesn't get it done for Detroit, likely because they're not going to want to give up on Brewer. But I could certainly see Utah trading Boozer if they get knocked out against LA.

Especially with the success they have had over the last few years.

Very lopsided deal in favor of Detroit. I imagine the Jazz front office would just laugh and hang up the phone.

You know what's funny - if you read through the Jazz board, the majority there would like to trade Boozer. They actually have a poll thread asking who shuold be sent packing this offseason....and the majority is Boozer....

I'm not surprised they feel that way.
Boozer is VERY undersized and can be overwhelmed by many front lines in the west.

Put an athletic 6'10'' player with average wingspan who blocks out on him and the things he does not do well show up.
