My Spartys got a primetime ESPN game on at 8, should end as this game begins. Quite a night for some basketball.

This is an extremely interesting point. If neither is expected to play, why travel with the team? Is it possible to think that one or both may be dealt to one of these teams on the trip??

LA, Portland, Phoenix, and Utah are on this trip....

That's some pretty dumb logic. I'm pretty sure that they're not just going to drop them off at one of those locations for a trade.

Worse logic than taking players on a West coast road trip that aren't going to play?

Unlikely to play. No guarantee they can't, and with the team short-handed you can't take the risk of leaving them home when they could potentially play. Especially if another important wing goes down.

According to Rip, he WON'T play

http://www.freep.com/article/20091117/S ... retire-A.I.

EDIT, adding quote from the article: "Rip Hamilton remains hobbled by a sprained right ankle and won't play on a four-game western trip that begins tonight in Los Angeles against the Lakers."

Rip said nothing himself about not playing. It's just speculation on Ellis part.

Anyone staying up for this one?

I've got no issues since I live on the West Coast, but is this thread going to be completely dead?

Rip and Tay will be travelling with the team b/c it will be the first time the team will be going on an extended trip so its a chance to build team chemistry/camaraderie. As many players have noted in the past, its these long trips away from home that give the team a chance to really come together. If thats the case I have no problems with it as long as its not affecting their recovery...

I'll be up to watch the game. its kinda of nice being in grad school fulltime, classes start late in the day so i can stay up as late as needed...

That would be funny though, when RIP gets off the plane and Joe is like, you wont need a ticket back bro. Good luck.

That they are still traveling with the team is indicative that its LESS likely they will be traded during the trip, not more so.

Don't worry, you'll wanna turn the TV off long before the 4th quarter even starts.

Reason why both Tay and Rip are travelling with the team is because i quote Tay here: " Prince said he's on this trip because he didn't want to be away from strength coach Arnie Kander for the entire week".

That's funny. Laker fans just posted:

Pistons - 70
Lakers - 130 8-)

In all seriousness though, I think Kobe is really pretty hurt and he's been sucking it up lately. A guy like Gordon could run around his gimpy hammy, though I anticipate we'd move Ron over to the hot hand.

Also, It's crazy to me to think you guys have to wait up till 10:30 to see west coast games. I guess that's what tivo is for, but you guys must lose some sleep to cheer your team on, for sure.
