Miguel Cabrera

Post#1 » by L&H_05 » Sun Jul 29, 2007 1:23 am

Being an Indians fan, I must admit I pay most of my attention to the American league, and I don't see many Marlins games.. However, I was checking in on the Bonds stuff, and they're playing the Marlins...Cabrera comes to the plate, and I didn't even recognize the guy..

When did this guy join the Prince Fielder diet ? :-?

Was he this big the last couple of seasons ??? He's pretty damn fat..

You can argue this guy is a top-3 player in baseball today, so I forgive him for being a little phet.

A move to corner outfielder could be in the future I guess. His range must be pretty bad at this point.

do you even read posts or do you just see the name of the person who posted something and attack him/her?

i said he's a great DH. do you know what that means? it stands for "designated hitter," a player who bats instead of the pitcher. it was instituted in 1973 by the American League. the DH does not play defense. he is usually a pretty good hitter and not so great at defense.

so, by rereading my post, you can see that i was implying that he is a very good hitter and a very poor fielder. his zone rating (as of June 14) was -4. david wright's? +24. so basically, sweet job trying to insult david wright (whose VORP is 37.7, compared to cabrera's 52.1, so no, cabrera isn't twice as good), except that once again you've failed to grasp what i was trying to say. are you like 13 or 14? is reading something that you just struggle with?

Cabrera is twice the hitter that Wright is, so what he isn't as good defensively? I'd even take Braun over Wright for the rest of their careers, and he's no better defensively at 3rd than Gary Sheffield.

Aw c'mon man lol. He's not THAT bad, he just makes some bad throws sometimes. He's only a rookie, he'll be better and more relaxed on defense next year.
