Andre Johnson.

The guy can play... just that he's never had a half decent Quarterback throwing to him except in the Pro Bowl

Andre Johnson +3!

Williams has been stuck with horrible WRs in Detroit, and still hasn't shined. Calvin Johnson is gonna knock him so back in the rotation he won't be able to see the field from his view.

One of the Williams isn't on Detroit anymore, I thought it was Mike, but if it was Roy then dismiss what I said, he still sucks though.

Dude, Roy Williams has been a beast, and will continue to be.

If anything, he and Calvin Johnson will take pressure off each other.

Roy Willaims in a close battle. Willams has a better Yards Per Catch average and more touchdowns in 1 full less season of playing.

Williams was in a pass happy offense last year where Kitna threw for 4000 yards.

Johnson was in a running back offense the past years, wiith a bad qb.

Maybe so, but he still has to catch the ball. No one can take away that Williams is a great receiver. I wouldn't try to take anything away from Johnson either. But I think the battle is a lot closer than what a lot of people stated earlier in the post. I still give the nod to Williams though.

Both have similar QB issues, but Roy seems to have more of an upside. Then again, doesn't everyone...

This has been a pet peeve of mine.

So what if he catches the ball?
The other receiver that you're comparing him to ALSO has to catch the ball. That's why you look at the offenses they were in to get a measure of context and scope to the numbers.

I'm taking Andre Johnson here, and it's not just a homer pick. The guy is a phenomenal player who will finally get a chance to really shine this year now that he has a QB who can get him the ball, some more help on the side and a legitimate running game to open the field.

Johnson reminds me a lot of Al Toon. Even though he was the often the only player on offense above replacement level and even though teams would always play to stop Toon, he

Nice pull on the Al Toon reference. IMO he would have been one of the very best WRs of his generation without the concussion problems. He could do it all, except stay healthy.

FYI I'm hearing Johnson is out 2-3 weeks, not just the Colts game this weekend.

I thought Al Toon made a drastic improvement over the years...?

Drastic improvement doesn't necessarily mean fully healed.

Speaking of Al Toon. He was just interviewed during the Iowa-Wisconsin game. He looked pretty good. Good that he's improving from PCS.

I think his son is playing for Wisconsin.
