The recruit class of 2003
I'm not a big recruiting guy, so can someone who is please post a synopsis of the 2003 recruiting class from the ratings when they entered school, and maybe how the more prominent players (top 25?) panned out? They did a piece on Ohio State's group in the Cleveland paper this week and it was fascinating how many of the heralded recruits (Marcel Frost, Lou Irrizary, a couple others I can't recall off the top of my head) were complete failures.

The guys in bold had what I consider very good, difference-making college careers.
The guys in italics are guys I'd be hard-pressed to say anything about because most of them never did much of anything. The other guys had varying degrees of impact and success--solid collegians.
Just doing a quick count on that, recruiting ratings (at least this one) is less a portend of success than the NFL draft by a pretty wide margin. If you keep going down in groups of 10 it works out about the same--3-4 really good players, 2-3 guys who had okay careers, and 3-4 guys most people never heard from again.
