PREDICTIONS THE REST OF THE WAY

Post#1 » by treyZz » Wed Sep 19, 2007 8:32 pm

11 games to go.

I'm going to say the Cubbies go 8-3 and win the division.

I will also go out on a limb and say Hendry's High Cholesterol worsens during this stretch. Jimbo must be loving that 2 big macs for $3 deal over at McDonalds.

We go 8-3 only if Soto plays.

9-2.

They'll win tonight, sweep Pittsburgh, and take 2/3 from FLA & CIN en route to the NL Central crown.

It's funny how you guys think a team with a .520 winning percentage will suddenly win almost all the remaining games. What team have you been watching all year?

For a quick reality check, 5 of the next 6 pitchers we face will be lefties. I'm sure I don't need to remind you guys how awesome we are against them. The Brewers finishing with 7 games at home isn't something I look forward to either.

I'm sorry if this is too pessimistic, I just see the team how it is. A thoroughly mediocre ballclub with about a 50/50 shot to win a bad division.

Hey, pessimism was sooo yesterday. We are optimists today. It will have a storybook ending. Go Cubs!

I guess the only storybook ending is getting owned by a 30 year old rookie.

The Cubs have an easy schedule these next 2 weeks, but after this Pirates series, will be on the road.

The Brewers have a hard schedule the rest of the season, but will be playing at home.

After an extra innings loss last night, the Brewers will being to slide, as the Cubs, riding high on come from behind victories, will stay in front until they make the play-offs!

I like the optimism.... IF... IF the cubs make the playoffs... who would you guys like to face in the 1st round????? padres, d-backs, or mets? not feeling good about it but i think we'll play the dbacks since they wouldn't be able to play the wildcard if their in the same division... we usually don't play very well against them during the reg. season but if Z steps up against Webb and wins that matchup, i think we have the advantage...

I can honestly say that I don't care who we face if we make the playoffs.

edit: BUT I'd really rather not have to face Peavy.

I'd actually like to face the Padres the most.

D-backs just flat out dominate us and I think the Mets are the best team in the NL. The Padres (and Peavy) have also struggled in the playoffs.

I would rather play the Diamondbacks. The main reason is there are a lot of Cub fans down in Arizona to fill that stadium.
