Insert why not both meme.

Agree, I would like both to come off the bench. Put Wiggins next to Steph and add size to the front line to replace Wiggins spot.

There is no spacing with a Loon/Dray/Kuminga front court.

One other note that's very important and being overlooked: The Wizards were trying like hell to get the 19 from us, and eventually settled on the pick in 2030

So there's a concrete plan for who we're getting at 19.. or a deal in place. I know who I'm betting on at 19..

JP will get his wish to chuck up as many shots as he likes without anyone mean-mugging him for it...

Kuminga just got upgraded with CP3 playing pg!

Kuminga just need to get ready to jump.

The good news is (or should be) that by swapping JP for CP3 and including RR, we can now take bpa at 19 instead of best upperclassman available.

We also no longer need a backup PG.

Have a need for a defensive big, a stretch big, and now a 2nd unit scorer.

PG: Curry, C “i gotta” P3
SG: Klank, GP2
SF Wiggins, Moody
PF: Dray, JK, PBJ
C: Loon

Another side effect of this deal: I dont think the Warriors deal Kuminga

CP3 contract next season will work best with additional assets, and Kuminga could be one. Right now we're hamstrung by trade rules with the cap, so we can only get guys around Kuminga's salary level. But next year? That's 38-40m in salary we can use in deals

Man and as a bonus we shed a roster spot eater in Ryan Rollins? Big win.

I don't think this makes us contenders. We're now **** when all our main guys get injured, as they do every year, but we're at least cleaning up the jagged pieces around the roster. So many dead roster spots, that was our biggest issue last year. Optimize those and maybe we beat LAL.

Steph
Dray
Wiggins
Klay
Looney
Paul
GPII
Moody
PBJ
#19

Whatever we get in return for Kuminga...
Whatever vet minimum players want to come join Steph...

Could use some size, maybe some shooting/scoring...

This has the makings of a pretty good team IMO.

I dont think this is going to change their viewpoint on who to draft or how they approach it.. there were no true PGs we were looking at, and Kerr still isnt going to play really young players

In fact the Warriors' insistence on keeping the 19 makes it more likely they are taking an upperclassman, someone who can help immediately. If not, why wouldnt they just trade the 19 to the Wizards? Or wait until they were on the clock to finalize the deal?

They have someone specific in mind and it won't be a freshman

Draymond and Durant couldn’t co-exist on this team anymore either.

A no defense off guard that can't be the primary ballhandler, is erratic as hell, has proven to be immature and goes through spurts where he looks like he doesn't belong on a basketball court is the most anti Kerr player we've had since Oubre. I should amend that first critique. He is potentially the WORST defender we have had in...a decade? He couldn't be worse if he tried.

JP helped them win the title in 2022 and he helped them win a lot of games with Curry out much of last season.

They may have been a play in team at best without JP and Klay, another guy scapegoated by so-called Warriors fans.

How quickly people forget those games in January and February when Curry was in street clothes.

I don't think it's scapegoating if everything I said is true. Poole is an erratic offensive player that excels as the first/only option, sucks in crunch time and is always putrid on defense. That's a great piece for a bad team, a bad piece for a good team trying to get better. That's the reality.

He helped us win a title and I'm grateful for that. Gary Payton and Otto helped too. Looney. All the non core guys did. If you go by the 'X helped us win a title' logic you'd never be allowed to make a single roster move......

TBF we did win a title before and after KD with Draymond. He's a difficult personality, but it's also difficult to be a contender for a decade + being difficult sometimes helps with that. Both can be true. And how much success has KD had since he left this difficult personality?

Just seeing those names makes me worry about having enough guys who can score in isolation, and bigs who can defend. If we don't get those 2 things we're not real contenders.

Wins
1. We move Poole off the court
2. We move Poole’s contract
3. We gain CP3 as an on court general
4. We gain a true pro in the locker room
5. We gain CP3’s contract
6. We ease the locker room tension with Draymond
7. Our 2nd unit, and specific players will get an upgrade to this (Klay, Kuminga, Moody, GPII)
8. He’s 38 and small, but our defence got a lot better today.

Losses
1. We move 2 x picks, 1 of which a distant protected 1st
2. I can’t think of anymore.

We did well here, considering all of the current dynamics involved with the team. I’m looking forward to this experiment.

The warriors don't score in isolation so that shouldn't really be an issue. When we need to do it come playoff time, that's Steph's job.

Ditto. Can we trade Klay for Dillon Brooks? Steph for Lechoke? That would top off the day for signing arch enemies.
