No I don't think so.

In other news, Ike gets another new coach.

During the draft me and my friends were rooting so hard NOT to get kosta koufas or donte green. I didnt even think about Randolph...totally forgot that he was still on the board. I was thinking darrell arthur, speights, but when they announced randolph i was so happy. Yeah hes scronnier than brandan wright, but i see tons of potential in him at the SF. Hes lanky and can move pretty well.

Can he shoot threes? I'd start Mikael Pietrus with Anthony Randolph can be his backup until he learns.
(Stephen Jackson leaves because he is too old)

Isn't Randolph just a black version of Yi Jian Lian?

When they asked him what he was doing for his birthday... he should have said practicing his three ball.

Did they once again not work out their first round pick?

According to Janny Hu, he was in the workout with Arthur and Jason Thompson

Randolph worked out for the Warriors at their headquarters Saturday, along with Thompson and Kansas forward Darrell Arthur, and clearly outshone the other two players, Mullin said.

and according to Steimentz, Arthur got the better of Jason Thompson too, so JT must have been the worse one there that day. More proof the whole JT thing was such bs. Nellie sees Randolph on Saturday, goes to Dallas on Monday(court) and blabs to everyone how good Randolph is, only he wasn't bs'ing about that.

Was it documented anywhere else that Randolph was at warriors HQ? Seems weird the information comes out 5 days later after we draft him.

Something interesting -

Randolph was in POR that day according to that article... 6/21. He held a workout in POR... would he really have 2 separate workouts at 2 separate locations in one day? :dontknow:

He's got the same goofy sickly looking face as monta. Those were some sick dunks, love the athleticism.

Check out this video if you have time. It's a complete game of our picks playing against each other.

Cool to be able to see what practice will have in store.

Hendrix is controlled and takes care of defensive rebounds.

Randolph is scary athletic and has a flare for flash. Very long.

I'm really liking Randolph's ball handling ability. Should be a fun summer league with Wright, Randolph, Belli and Hendrix.

Watched the first 3 minutes...randolph missed some "bunnies" that he should have made. I do like his length, hope he takes it stronger to the hoop

How long do we expect randolph to make an impact? I'm thinking nellie will be able to use him right away this year, but knowing nellie who knows. I hope he doesnt get the bwright treatment

Give him time. He's not going to play much this season. Fans will scream for Nellie's head, but it will probably be the right thing.

Odom as a Freshman was much more dominant and was a much better facilitator at Rhode Island...

Bosh was also just more dominant...

Randolph is going to be a guy who fills the stat sheet with doing a lot of little things, more like Kirilenko, but a better ball handler...

If you watch the full games and not just the YouTube clips, he makes a lot of mistakes handling the ball and bad passes... so I wouldn't expect to see a lot of that initially..

I really want him to spend a bit of time in the D-League refining his skills so he can develop a little more before worrying about learning the system and competing with the big dogs...

If he's young and develops a jump shot, he'll be flat out dangerous...

I never saw any of Randolph,he was one of the guys I knew the least. Stuff I heard says he has the quickness-agility of a guy who's just 200 lb ...except stretched out. Good handles. A bit reckless and not real good with decisions. Wright by comparison had been pretty careful and efficient, played a bit more "veteran". I'd expect a bit of "Blatche" in his play at first,a 6-11 guy trying a bit too much to be a flashy guard. As young as he is....the player he becomes in 2-3 years may be a lot different.

The Merc:
Golden State 'amazed' freshman was available

"We feel he has star quality. We feel fortunate to have him," Mullin said. "For our system he can play multiple positions. Obviously he's long and athletic. I don't think there's a ceiling for him right now."

Nelson had flooded the media for days with suggestions that his team was chasing Rider forward Jason Thompson, and the gambit appeared to work when Sacramento, choosing 12th, passed on Randolph in favor of Thompson. When Portland selected Kansas guard Brandon Rush, Golden State was in the clear.

"I don't smoke," Mullin said of the subterfuge. "Nellie smokes a lot, though."

interesting.. Nellie calls Randolph "my guy". well atleast you know he won't get the POB treatment.

Tim K wrote: Don, are you going to play Randolph . . . ever?

"You got me in trouble with (Wright)," Nelson said, chuckling during a brief conversation after the Randolph pick. "This is Mully's day to talk. But (Randolph) was my guy. That's the guy I wanted."
