One explanation for Wright's falloff and absence is trade talk.
I can live with Smith for Harrington and Wright, though I don't love it.

FIRST, you have to sign Smith. They cant trade him unless he signs. he must agree to Warrior money & coming to play for them. Then you talk players......

When he signs, Smith is BYC and that trade will not work.

The Hawks would be about $6 mil under the cap, so it makes those BYC issues a lot easier to work out if need be. That said, I don't see the Hawks sign and trading Smith at this point, nor do I see Smith wanting to leave his hometown just yet, despite how much the ATL front office is jerking him around.

i would trade wright only if i see a future pick coming. smoove is a big liability in man and gets most of his blocks on help defense. hes a good dunker but has a horrible shot. he cant shoot but makes our team that much more volatile. hes been some what of whiner and i dont want to pay him 10+ mil for 5 years to whine.

al + wright + perovic for smoove + future 1st (protected if they want)

I just can't see Mullin moving on that let alone pulling it off. If the Hawks ended up with B Wright and Al from Smoove they'd be chuffed.

I think if Mullin really wanted Josh Smith he would have made him priority number one over signing Maggette.
