2009 draft lottery...

Post#1 » by Khoee » Fri Aug 29, 2008 9:10 pm

never too early to kick off my favorite topic in the world...here are my top 14 prospects in next years draft based on extensive research and my unparalleled eye for talent:

1. Ricky Rubio
2. DeMar DeRozan
3. Tyreke Evans
4. Brandon Jennings
5. Jrue Holiday
6. Earl Clark
7. Samardo Samuels
8. Austin Daye
9. Al-Farouq Aminu
10. Blake Griffin
11. Ty Lawson
12. Tyler Smith
13. Gerald Henderson
14. Darren Collison

and if we're within striking distance, no one can deliver a top 3 pick like Nellie...

Would require a buyout...move everyone up a slot and add Budinger if Rubio's not in the draft...

Brandon Jennings is dumber than that big rock you have in your backyard.

Samardo Samuels is for real. My ex HS played St Benedict and usually we allowed under 30 pts to teams. Samuels had 28. The rest of St Benedicts wasn't a problem. It was our one regular season loss.
Stephen Curry and Hansborough have to be at least top 15. A 20 pt season is better than 3rd place in a HS dunk contest, which is about the top thing some of these guys have on the resume now.

When the list is half freshman with zero college games and Sophs who scored a generic 11-12 ppg,it's goofy to assume the max with regards to hyped "potential".

Jennings did convince me he can pass like a quality PG. The format of HS All Star games is such that a number of pretty good scorers can put on some show since the D is so erratic there's plenty of open lanes and uncontested J's. I'm more impressed when someone passes, rebounds or does play D.
CENSORED... No comment.

Classic Rem

If we void Monta's contract and dump Maggette , can we afford Joe Johnson next summer?

What a great lineup we could have

Stephen Curry is a 2nd round talent..

Every time I see a lotto list without James Harden it pains me... he's criminally underrated because of his average athleticism but he's the smartest SG in the draft... He's be my #2 behind DeRozan and ahead of Evans @ SG pre-season.. Harden just reminds me too much of Brandon Roy, and I wouldn't want to miss out on that.

If Monta's gone, screw Harden... Jrue is the pick. No Jrue, then I guess I'd go SG. We'll definitely need some guard power, especially young. Unless we actually are banking on CJ Watson and Marco Belinelli..

Looking forward to watching Harden...Randolph can be our PG...We don't need a classic PG..We do need gaurds who can handle, shoot, pass and defend...That's a tough combo to find...Sidney Moncrief is not walking through that door.

Derozon for sure, Amare hops and dunking with ball handling too. He can replace Wright who'll crap out this year.

Demar Derozan is my most favorite guard prospect since Chris Paul. Haven't been this hyped about a shooting guard since Dwyane Wade. If only we hadn't signed Maggette....30 win season FTL.

I'm all aboard the Tank for DeRozan bandwagon.

Biedrins
BW
Randolph
DeRozan
Monta

Would be an unstoppable lineup

DeRozan's the best shooting guard prospect of the last decade...his body control is what sets him apart from other elite athletes...I love him...

Ive barely watched DeRozan play, and I already don't like him..USC hype patrol is out in full force.

I think he's more of a PG than SG. The way he played at the Summit was enough for me... he'll probably have to play SG @ UCLA so as not to steal minutes from the oh-so-average Collison and potential filled Lee... I see at the very least a combo G that can be a primary/co-primary ballhandler (Wade/JJ/Roy, etc)

I noticed a slothness aspect to Mullens game.

Is this the same slothness you said you noticed about Jason Thompson before the draft?
