New Uniforms?

Post#1 » by DanLanghiOwnsAll » Tue Jun 23, 2009 7:23 pm

I've been hearing now for about a year that we were going to be changing our jersey's/logo/court and going back to a more retro look.

Is this going to happen or are we going to have to watch another season of lightning bolts and cartoon looking uniforms?

I want a Randolph jersey, but not if it's the embarassing lightning bolt era.

that was the plan until season ticket sales came in 50% below expectations...teams need to pay the NBA $500k to change uniforms...2014...

Yeah I doubt this will happen this year. We need to go back to our winning colors.

Years ago when I chatted with Rowell, he told me they wanted to change uniforms until the league told them how much it would cost to do so. I have never actually heard anything concrete since then about the team wanting/trying to do so. Just speculation. I became suspicious/hopeful this might be the year based on the fire sale they had in the team store at the end of the season, but again, just speculation.

I still contend they should have tried to get some leverage with the league after OKC yoinked our (stupid) mascot out from under us. "Dear NBA, By letting OKC become the Thunder, you effectively ruined our mascot and all the marketing we'd already built around him. We'll move on and deal with it, but in return, how about you waive the charge and let us change our uniforms?"

The Warriors have asked permission from whoever is building the new bay bridge to use it for new logo designs. Or something like that.... heres the link:

I like the 80-90s style the best, would love to see them go for something similar to that. Or at the very least go back to the same colors.

The color change is nice, but the whole design needs to go.

No more lightning bolts. We continue to go with this ugly design. Atleast Detroit moved on from the ugly turquiose era. We're the 2nd ugliest team behind the Thunder.

We really need to get rid of the orange and lame thunderbolts. I was never fan of having a wannabe power ranger as a mascot anyway.

Not to mention the lame font or print or whatever you call it of the letters and numbers. Absolutely atrocious. I'm glad I was only a kid around 95 when the old uniforms got pulled and these ones were unveiled. It's like an evolutionary chart except the modern man turns into a monkey.
